YMMV with the PP Pay Later 20% rewards offer, otherwise it's $1206 shipped. You also get a free D3 butter warmer with purchase. I don't think you'll ever beat this price for this set.

15% off code Prudent15

Code works with other items too, but this will max out the PP savings.

All Clad Copper Core is a heavy, premium 5 ply set that aims for fast, even heating and sits above D5 because it adds a copper layer. The cookware can look like new with hand washing and occasional Bar Keepers Friend, and the copper core frying pan has been performing well so far. The main knocks are the hefty handles, which can dig into the hand, and concerns about long term durability and warranty support. It is a strong fit if you want top tier stainless performance and do not mind the weight.

  • Hand-washing and occasional Bar Keepers Friend use can keep the cookware looking like new.

    ImmortalusCLINT-THE-GREAT

  • Bar Keepers Friend plus brief scrubbing can restore the All-Clad appearance after normal use.

    CLINT-THE-GREATitaintrite

  • The copper core design is described as a five-layer build that adds a copper layer beyond D5.

    XealOitaintrite

  • A copper core frying pan has reportedly performed well during the first months of ownership.

    beavis9k

  • The warranty experience is reportedly ineffective, with cookware lasting less than a year for some buyers.

    itlynstalyn

  • Dishwasher cleaning is discouraged because it can damage the cookware's condition over time.

    itaintrite

  • The set's heavy handles reportedly cut into the hand, making the cookware less comfortable to use.

    XealO

  • The points or PayPal offer reportedly changed wording to one purchase only, with points pending from an earlier purchase.

Are these considered the D3 line or D5?
They are D5 Copper Core. D5 as in 5-ply.

Cancelled this order. Dropped by Williams-Sonoma this morning. IMO, the handles on these are terrible. They cut into the hand pretty bad because of the heft. Also got a chance to handle the G5 pots and pans. Ergonomically more superior and lighter weight. All-Clad has the G5 set for $100 than the copper core set. I think it's worth it.

Btw, I re-read your post about a D3 butter warmer. I don't recall seeing it in my cart during checkout and I don't see it in my invoice...
that was a limited time offer I believe. now they're including the 3pc mixing bowl set instead

i considered the graphite set as well, but did some research and people are saying it can be too heat sensitive. so I decided to go with the copper core.

Btw, I know this turning into comedy, but I ended up going with the D3 everyday set. It has the curved edges of the more expensive sets plus the more ergonomic handles. So in a sense, a goldilocks set of sorts.

Atrocious quality for the price and their warranty is basically useless. Get your cookware elsewhere if you want it to last more than a year.
Atrocious quality compared to what?
