I got screwed over on this deal. Not PayPal's fault, but first I'll let you know how I got the 20% to appear in my PayPal account.

So when I first saw this posted on SD, I went into my PayPal Rewards section to see if the deal was listed. It was not. Then I figured, maybe if I make the purchase I want, the offer might appear. So I bought an ASUS TUF RTX 5080 video card ($1200) and an ASUS PSU ($120) from Walmart and paid for it with my PayPal account. After that purchase, I went to check my PayPal Rewards page, and sure enough, the 20% cashback offer now appeared. Since it needed to be activated to get the rewards, I went back to my Walmart account, canceled my purchase, activated my PayPal offer, then re-purchased the items I wanted. A few minutes later, I see I have 25,000 points pending in my PayPal Rewards page, which is about $210. Great!

Well, not so great. An hour later, I get an email that my video card purchase was cancelled due to lack of stock. The video card was sold through NewEgg (bastards), and now that video card is being sold by other sellers for about 20% more.

Anyway, even it the video card was being sold by other sellers at the same price, I still can't get the PayPal reward for the video card purchase, because the PSU I ordered in that same purchase might not get canceled, and if it doesn't get canceled that will count as the single purchase. PayPal will only honor one single purchase for this particular reward, from what I've read.

There's still several days left to use this reward, so maybe the rest of my order will cancel, and I'll see if I can purchase that video card elsewhere.

So are we confirming the 20% off APPAREL is working for non apparel too? Half the comments here need to read and understand this is a new offer that has nothing to do with pay later
the fact that it works with non-apparel is proof it's basically the same promo.

the sheep get excited when they see their speciality pop up. just like the kids get excited when they see 20% off toys or the motor heads get excited when they see the 20% off car parts promo. Paypal sure knows how to reel them in.

Whatever details (outside the basic high level terms) happens with the other promo is exactly what will happen with this promo.

Where do you see the pending points? I made a purchase on eBay and chose pay in 4. I made the first payment but I don't see the pending points

I didn't see this offer anywhere on my Paypal app, UNTIL I clicked the notification bell on the top right, then I saw it. I bought some clothes and a $100 physical giftcard at walmart.com and my points are pending. I got 20% back on the giftcard but only 5% points back on the clothes (?). I get 5% through my paypal debit card so not sure why that triggered over the 20%.
Then, I found the "Pay later" promo as well, despite people saying it's over. I found it hidden. Here are the steps to find it:
In paypal app > go to activity tab > click on any points transaction > click "go to rewards" in the middle > it will be under "featured offers". Activate it and you're good to go! For this one, I bought $150 amazon e-gift card and a $50 ebay physical card from Bestbuy using Paypal Pay-in-4. My points are pending!

There are multiple offers from PayPal right now. There is the one for apparel for 20%. I tried it with Merrell, didn't seem to work. But, I appied the 5% cash back from PayPal and it may have caused a glitch at PayPal due to multiple cashback methods, so it may go through later or I'll contact PayPal if it doesn't. Right now, at 7pm on 11/27 PayPal is also offering 20% off if you use pay later or pay in 4 payments. Both require credit check. I think the pay in 4 version is just a soft pull. But, the pay over time does offer up to $1250 cash back.
