DiscountMags is a reliable way to grab discounted magazine subscriptions, especially for titles like Consumer Reports, The Economist, Wired, and PC Gamer. The subscriptions work, and the pricing can beat direct renewal by a wide margin, with Consumer Reports and The Economist called out as especially strong values. The main catch is auto renewal, which can kick in at full price unless the cancellation email or Discount Lock is handled in time. Some print titles also have fewer than 12 issues a year, and Consumer Reports print does not include online reviews. A solid option if you want cheap magazine access and stay on top of renewal settings.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. Subscriptions can auto-renew well before expiration at the regular rate, so the cancellation email needs to be watched closely. The Discount Lock feature can be canceled per title to prevent renewal.
Yes. The subscriptions are reported to be fulfilled correctly, with multiple long-term users reporting no problems over years of purchases. The main caution is managing auto-renewal so you do not get charged the full regular price.
Yes. Consumer Reports reportedly dropped from 12 issues per year to 6 while the price stayed about the same. That makes the print subscription less attractive unless the discounted price is the main reason to buy.
Consumer Reports is much cheaper through DiscountMags than direct: one deal cited $27.90 for 2 years versus $39 per year direct. The print subscription does not include access to Consumer Reports' online reviews.
Yes. Both PC Gamer and Retro Gamer are included in the sale in digital format. Retro Gamer print is noted as typically very expensive, making the digital option the practical choice.

Also, if you order a one-year magazine subscription, you may be shown a screen offering a second year with a further 10% discount.
Keep in mind that very few print magazines send 12 issues a year anymore -- most annual subscriptions are for 10, 6, or even 4 issues. (And be aware that a print subscription to Consumer Reports doesn't give you access to their online reviews.) But I've been using DiscountMags for years, and never had any problems.
Don't know why the price has shot up so much this year. 🤬🤬🤬
