I saw the MONOS at the airport yesterday...someone with light colors....lots of scruff marks on it and it looked so ordinary...hardly anyone would tell it is "premium". I just looked at the pax and thought....what a bunch of idiots and losers. Even Monos carry on baggage (as well as their Monos checked baggage) has scruffs and looks dirty? So ,what's the point of paying such a premium for Monos? Instead of calling it Monos Carry On "Plus", they should call it Monos Carry on "MINUS", for screwing folk into unnecessarily paying a higher price.
I'd say the Sams Club Members Mark one in in the link below (which uses industry-leading YKK zippers and Hinomoto wheels) in dark shades is way, way better for the exceptional quality of the luggage. And, it is only $69! I have it!
Why pay ridiculous money for the Monos brand when the luggage in the link is about equivalent if not better?

Even if you are not a Sam's Club member, you can buy it by paying a nominal surcharge of 10%, which on $69.99 is only $6.99.
By the way, this Members Mark luggage was even recommended on the Clark Howards show, who said it was better than even all the brands you get at Costco. https://clark.com/travel/what-lug...recommend/

And even if you care about so-called premium brands and their premium lines, even the one in the link at $127 would be better and, if you are a new member to Travelpro, they will give you a 10% off coupon so that would be $127 minus $13 so about $115 only. Compare that with the ridiculous price that you have to pay for Monos.

Same. Pulled the trigger with the discount. Thanks OP

For the price of just the Monos carry-on, you could have got a 3 piece 100% polycarbonate luggage in leatherette finish, highly rates, for $159, It is available in white and black.
I appreciate that, but preference matters too. And that 3 piece set looks like something out of miami vice in the early 90s. I like the modern look of the monos. I know its not a great value and this is lick deals, but sometimes I make exceptions to that.

Don't just look at the white luggage in that link but look at the black one that's really stylish/polished/classy look. (direct link below)

how is samsonite quality nowadays? TJ MAX and Ross has some decent carryon
High-end Samsonite is good; that is all I used for checked luggage. I use Travelpro for carry-on, and I also have a Tumi. This is for someone who flies weekly

Too big for carry on. Major american based airlines might be okay as they don't really use the sizers as much. For discount airlines. these won't pass. And then for international travel especially in Europe and some parts of Asia, these would be checked in.
If the smaller ones were 40% off, I might have tried them out.
