At this price, are people buying these in bulk just to resell the RAM? Thanks AI

Can anyone recommend a laptop in the $250-$300 range? This one is a bit out of my budget

Looks like a great deal, but I don't know if I'm a fan of the return policy - laptops show as a "nonreturnable item" which kinda sucks. Looks like a 15% restocking fee if they return it at all.

Anyone have any experience with returning a laptop at B&H if my kid doesn't like it?

I'm out of town and tried to ship it general delivery and it tried to charge me $46 shipping. Never had that happen to me before. Said it had to because of local regulations.

Or I'll get the Asus vivobook s16 with a better processer

About to pull the trigger but can't figure out if it has a backlit keyboard. Can anyone confirm this?

Quote from alambrose :
I would look for driver updates for the mouse. Sometimes there are hardware specific drivers as opposed to generic windows drivers, and vice versa. There may also be mouse sensitivity settings; I've had laptop pads that would detect and move things when I just hover my finger over the pad.

And then there are people (cough, mother in law, cough), who are simply and chronically technologically challenged, and there is no fix... fixing one issue, will simply result in another down the road. I find that 99% of all computer issues are resolved by simply shutting down and restarting, it's the first thing I ask, "Did you shut it down and restart?"... Then there's about 30 seconds of silence followed by, "Never mind".
This is often the case with my wife but I have to admit there does seem to be some sort of interdimensional unexplainable tech curse she has. and i don't even believe in that stuff.

or maybe it's that i love her so much that my brain doesn't want to get angry at her for still not knowing how to basic tech stuff after using PCs for 30+ years?

Which is better for a college freshman, this or the Front Page Best Buy Lenovo 16" IdeaPad Slim 5i Laptop at $349?

It would likely be used for MS Office, movies, general browsing/messaging and light gaming.

No touch screen
The Lenovo website and the review I watched said it had a touch screen but maybe it is and option and this doesn't have it. B&H says nothing about it.
