This 24TB BarraCuda is drawing attention for its very low cost per terabyte and strong value on paper, especially for bulk storage or RAID setups. The price has been called tempting enough to justify extra testing, and the drive is seen as roughly half the price of higher tier options. The main concern is reliability, with repeated reports of DOA units, clicking drives, and early failures, plus a two year warranty that feels short for a large hard drive. It looks best suited to light use after thorough testing.
The deal can be improved with a $75 off $300 coupon plus a Venmo linking offer, bringing two drives to about $195 each.
The low per-terabyte pricing can make it practical to buy extra drives and pre-test them before adding them to a RAID array.
The drive may be suitable for light-use scenarios if reliability expectations are aligned with the two-year warranty window.
Reports link the two-year warranty to shorter expected lifespan, with drives reportedly failing around or after that period.
Some buyers report DOA units or early failures, including cases where the drive was clicking loudly and showed reallocated sectors right out of the box.
The drive may be a poor fit for heavy daily-write NAS workloads, since reliability concerns are raised for long-running use.
The listing price can change after promotions, including instances where the drive was taken offline and later returned at a higher price.

who here left this on past the 180 days and does some writes to it daily.
Trying to figure out if this hdd is a bottom of the barrel , 120TB writes a year
I mean this is my own experience but in my current rig, all the Seagate drives have failed as u can see using it's own software diagnostic tools, where the WD and Hitachi drives not to mention all my SSD are still running fine
The 8TB drives which is one of the failed drives was prone to high failure rates supposedly, so don't know if they got any better since have avoided them since had so many failed drives from Seagate. Just looking at the reviews on the Newegg page for this don't look like they got any better most of the comments seem to be DOA drive or failed after few months
