None of these ice makers have refrigeration that will keep the ice frozen. They all let the ice melt, and when the ice tray gets lower due to the ice melt, it'll re-create the ice. It's good for creating batches of ice, or having extra ice during a 4-hour window like a party, but it's not particularly good at being on all the time.
On another note, the black color is cheaper, not sure why that one wasn't posted instead of the stainless steel one.
