The DualSense Edge stands out as a premium PS5 controller for players who want extra back paddles, programmable L3 and R3 buttons, and replaceable stick modules. It is also praised for its sturdier feel and long-lasting build, with some comparing it favorably to Xbox Elite and SCUF controllers. The main drawback is price, especially since it still lacks hall effect sticks. That makes it feel best suited to players who will use the extra controls and value durability over cost.
Common Questions (5)
It adds programmable back paddles, extra L3/R3 controls, and replaceable stick modules, which can make it a strong upgrade for many games. It is also heavier and more expensive, so it makes the most sense if you want pro-style controls rather than a basic pad.
No hall effect sticks are mentioned for this controller, and that omission is a concern at this price. The main durability advantage discussed is the ability to replace the stick modules.
Yes. The stick modules are replaceable as a whole set for about $20, so degraded accuracy can be fixed by swapping that part instead of replacing the entire controller.
It is described as lasting a long time, with durability and replaceable sticks cited as the main reasons. That makes it appealing if regular controllers wear out quickly.
It is less convenient on PC than a controller with a dongle because it relies on Bluetooth or a cable and does not provide native Windows support in the same way. The lack of native PC support is the main drawback called out.

If Sony gave native pc support and dongle, I'd buy an Edge
