The DualSense Edge stands out as a premium PS5 controller for players who want extra back paddles, programmable L3 and R3 buttons, and replaceable stick modules. It is also praised for its sturdier feel and long-lasting build, with some comparing it favorably to Xbox Elite and SCUF controllers. The main drawback is price, especially since it still lacks hall effect sticks. That makes it feel best suited to players who will use the extra controls and value durability over cost.
The Edge adds programmable rear L3 and R3 paddles that can improve control in many games.
The stick modules can be replaced as a whole set for about $20 if accuracy degrades over time.
The controller can feel firmer in PvP sessions, which may help with confidence during competitive play.
The Edge dongle can provide native Windows support without relying on game or Steam Input support.
The Edge does not include hall effect sticks despite its $159.99 price point.
The Edge may be considered overpriced if the rear buttons are the only feature you care about.
The Edge is only worth it for top-level competition, while a standard controller may be the better choice otherwise.
The controller's upgrade value is uncertain because it may still need replacement within 6-12 months like regular controllers.

If Sony gave native pc support and dongle, I'd buy an Edge
