Community Reviews
The HP OmniBook 5 stands out as a solid 16 inch everyday laptop with a 16 to 10 1920 by 1200 display, backlit keyboard, and enough speed for spreadsheets, taxes, and browsing. The screen is praised as better than expected, battery life is described as lasting all day, and the chassis is viewed as sturdier than comparable ASUS models. It is not a touchscreen, and the two USB C ports sit next to each other. Weight listings also conflict, so the shipping spec may need a closer look, a dependable pick for basic use.
buyers comparing similar-spec models who care about display resolution because commenters noted the HP is 1920x1200 (16:10) rather than 1920x1080, which they called a big plus.
shoppers who don't want a touchscreen because multiple commenters reported the OmniBook 5 does not have touch, and one said they're happy about that.
people doing basic Windows work like spreadsheets, taxes, and everyday browsing because one commenter said they have no regrets for those kinds of tasks and that the battery lasts all day with quick charging.
buyers who specifically want a backlit keyboard because a commenter said the eBay alternative "has no backlit kbd," making this HP the better pick for that preference.
people who want to avoid hinge reliability problems because one commenter said the HP has far better build quality and they're "not likely" to have hinge breakage like they expected from an ASUS alternative.
buyers who need touchscreen functionality because commenters repeatedly said this model does not have a touch screen, and suggested a different 2-in-1 option if touch is required.
buyers who are relying on exact spec listings like weight or display details without double-checking because commenters flagged discrepancies (e.g., Staples listing weight vs what they saw elsewhere, and display resolution being stated differently), so you may need to verify before buying.
buyers who anticipate returning to Walmart because one commenter described a painful return experience with a customized Walmart version, including having to return in-store for a Walmart gift card and lots of back-and-forth before getting a shipping label.

I got the one with Ryzen 7 350, 1TB version about a month ago for $549. No complaints. And Costco has same spec'd one with touch for the same. I didn't care about touchscreen, only numpad and backlit keyboard.

This is also 16:10 1920x1200. It is not 1920x1080.
A big plus.
