Depends on what are you doing. For very basic works like documentation, video playback, etc. with 50% brightness, expect around 12 hours.

One of the lunar lake laptops (e.g. Thinkpad X9) might be the way to go if prioritizing battery life. https://youtu.be/5vofHmZe_Uo?si=WcqCxhZyXOWu9_em

A 32GB version of this same laptop is being sold at Costco for $1100 https://slickdeals.net/f/18855850

Is the $384 upgrade worth it?

I posted that deal too. There are couple of minor difference as this one is having Fingerprint Reader and Windows 11 Pro which the Costco model does not have.
Now whethere the extra premium worth it for getting doubling the Ram is a subjective matter, based on what you're planning to do. If your set of works and applications are fine with 32GB of memory, then that extra money does not worth it.

On the other hand, if you are working on or predicting to work on applications which reqiuired tons of memory, like running multiple Virtual machines, Large Dataset based analysis, etc. then that extra money absoultely worth it, especially when the Ram is soldered and can't be upgraded in future.

I remember buying an hp laptop years ago and it had one pixel out in the middle of the screen. They said I'd have to keep it. I returned it and haven't looked back at their crappy products. The ratings on these are awful.
