Taxes for me is $46.25 .. it might be worth buying $600 GCs instead of $500.
Logic:
$500 GC but then you pay $46.25 in cash.

Alternate:
$600 GC then you have leftover balance of $53.75

Difference:
You paid $80 in cash instead of $46.25 but that extra $33.75 got you $53.75 in balance.

That may be great deal for a lot of people.

Here's a couple of "hacks" to save some additional money when using Nintendo GCs for eShop games.

1. While in the eShop, click on your profile settings and change your billing zip code to a state with no sales tax. I just use a random zip code from Montana. Nintendo only goes off of that zip code when you use your available eShop balance to purchase games.

2. Nintendo game vouchers can still be purchased until the end of January and can be used on some new releases like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends Z-A.

For example, the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime 4 is normally $69.99. However, by using this Costco GC deal, you could get a two-pack of game vouchers on the eShop for basically $80. You can redeem one of those vouchers for the Switch 1 version of Metroid Prime, meaning you're getting the base game for $40. Then you can buy the upgrade pack separately for $9.99. So you'd have the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime for $49.99, a savings of $20.

You can also use vouchers in a similar manner for good savings on older titles with Switch 2 versions. For example, the Switch 2 version of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is normally $79.99. However, using this Costco GC deal, you can use a a voucher to get the base version of the game for $40, and then buy the the upgrade pack separately for $9.99, for a total of $49.99 and a $30 savings.

Deal still live. I ordered gift cards (2 x $200 and 1 x $100) last night at 11pm central time and never got the emails with the codes. I called Costco customer service this morning and they said it was on hold, verified that my information matched my membership and sent me a one time pass via text and they cleared the hold. I got the emails a few minutes after ending the call with customer service. Call took about 15 minutes. I added the cards to the Nintendo e-shop and placed the order without a problem. 😁

You can get uber gift cards 20% off from Costco, and order the Nintendo switch on Uber Eats from Best Buy. Also the Uber Eats has $25 off $75 YMMV.
this is hidden here but thank you for this. I did this and effectively paid $375.. should be a post YMMV (NYC). Caveat here is that there is a limit of GCs you can purchase. I already stocked on some before this for Uber Eats.

RIP, my costco order of gift cards was cancelled 10 minutes after ordering
Update: ordered again, I think last order was cancelled because the card exp date was incorrect - we recently received a new card...
Went through and I was able to add all the gift cards on Nintendo website Smilie

Are Physical games better if you want to sell the console in the future, or that doesn't matter?
It's up to you. For me, the digital is much more convenient and practical. I share my switch with my kids, and they keep asking me to change the cartridge, and they keep misplacing the game cartridge. It's easier that I don't have to keep locating and switching them is a plus. Resell value isn't a real value for me, because this is not the price of a car.

So disappointed in Costco's inability to process these orders.
After my first order didn't go through within 2 hours, I called them. They did their whole OTP verification and assured me it would go through within another 2 hours. Didn't happen. Called them a 2nd time and assured me it would go through within 24 hr.
Instead my order got cancelled. Called them a 3rd time. They did another round of OTP and assured me that if I place the order again it will go through immediately.
Guess what? 6 hours after placing the 2nd order nothing. Called them a FOURTH time only to be told that that dept is closed.
At this point they seem to be running out the clock on this sale as it expires Dec. 1. Total BS.
Called them this morning and they pushed it through. What an ORDEAL!

Costco is currently discounting their Nintendo eShop cards an additional $10 so that you can purchase $100 for $79.99 (before tax):

Worked for me - sharing times if it helps:

Placed the Costco order 11/30 at 8:20pm PT (and got a confirmation email at that time)
Received my digital gift cards via email 12/1 at 7:32am PT. Funny enough, the "shipping" email came 1 minute later at 7:33am PT.

Had no issues redeeming on Nintendo's website.

Thanks to all who posted this deal and the very easy to follow steps above!

Glad you commented this, I went this route and all said and done paid about $371 for the Switch 2. Really phenomenal deal, just needed someone else with a Costco membership to help me with the Uber gift card limits.
