Taxes for me is $46.25 .. it might be worth buying $600 GCs instead of $500.
Logic:
$500 GC but then you pay $46.25 in cash.

Alternate:
$600 GC then you have leftover balance of $53.75

Difference:
You paid $80 in cash instead of $46.25 but that extra $33.75 got you $53.75 in balance.

That may be great deal for a lot of people.

Here's a couple of "hacks" to save some additional money when using Nintendo GCs for eShop games.

1. While in the eShop, click on your profile settings and change your billing zip code to a state with no sales tax. I just use a random zip code from Montana. Nintendo only goes off of that zip code when you use your available eShop balance to purchase games.

2. Nintendo game vouchers can still be purchased until the end of January and can be used on some new releases like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends Z-A.

For example, the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime 4 is normally $69.99. However, by using this Costco GC deal, you could get a two-pack of game vouchers on the eShop for basically $80. You can redeem one of those vouchers for the Switch 1 version of Metroid Prime, meaning you're getting the base game for $40. Then you can buy the upgrade pack separately for $9.99. So you'd have the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime for $49.99, a savings of $20.

You can also use vouchers in a similar manner for good savings on older titles with Switch 2 versions. For example, the Switch 2 version of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is normally $79.99. However, using this Costco GC deal, you can use a a voucher to get the base version of the game for $40, and then buy the the upgrade pack separately for $9.99, for a total of $49.99 and a $30 savings.

Great job digging this up OP. I bought 3 $200 gift card packages for $480. I used 11 of $50 gift cards to purchase the Switch for $543, which included taxes and I'm left with around $53 for games or any other accessory. And I was just about to pull the trigger for $450 at Bestbuy a few minutes before I saw this deal.

Anyone having issues with Costco cancelling their order? I've tried several times... charges are hitting my CC, but I almost immediately get a cancellation email.

My experience: first i didn't have a Costco membership. Did the groupon deal was painless(edit: i mean getting the membership. But i am still waiting for the costco $40)
Ordered gift cards, wait, call and chat support, told to wait. Cancelled after 16h-ish, twice. Would have been so much easier to just buy it on Amazon for 449 with a 5% back card at this point (note: the Amazon switch mkworld bundle went OOS by the time you're reading this). Still waiting on order #3 which i am sure is failing because my membership is new

it's been almost 5 hours since I've ordered and the codes have not been emailed. Seems a bit excessive no? No customer support to chat with at this point so I guess I'll sleep on it..😕

Had to talk to them several times due to their system canceling my order multiple times. The last time was because the email on my shipping address was different from my account address. Once fixed I had to order the cards at full price then they credited me the next day with $100 refund.

Last I checked, the sale price expires Dec 1 so yes, deal is dead.

FYI, for those getting stuck. Make sure you're "shipping" to and using the same name on CC to match your Costco account. In my case wife had the membership under our joint email, but I used my CC. Using the online web "Chat" support function can quickly get you un-stuck. Also, I did have luck buying a single card in one order. So maybe if you place a separate order for each eGift card you want it would go smoother. (I was able to redeem all my codes and order on nintendo.com...we'll see how long shipping takes)

Got my digital gift cards this morning through email from Costco. Made the purchase, paid an extra $38.75 for taxes in CA. My Nintendo order is confirmed, saved me about $100!

I don't understand how I could have possibly missed this. I visit Slickdeals numerous times per day every day, especially during Black Friday/Cyber Monday time. This deal never showed up for me until Dec 2. Other Switch 2 deals did, like the Walmart one, but not this one.
Could Slickdeals dynamic content have just failed to populate this deal for me over the past 3 days?
