I've been waiting for so long for costco to get this deal down, that I ended up going with the samsung instead (s90F). with that said, I think this current deal is better than the partner store deal with the mid tier boom box or low end sound bar due to the 5 year warranty and 90 day returns, and overall customer policy.

Pretty much. I bought mine in August when Sam's Club clearanced them out for some reason and have been monitoring the price since. I don't think there is a time since then where you couldn't find one of these for 1249 or less

The 77 was this price online for most of the last 2 weeks. Buy online, pickup in store - 5yr warranty included. Literally stopped people from buying in store when I was there to pick one up. Best part was the store associates basically told the person just take it now rather than tie them up with picking an order. The S90F does have better color depth, but the quality issues seemed to carry over a little from the S90D and just didn't want to take on that risk. They all have issues but didn't want to risk it with Samsung - the only TV brand I've ever had fail on me in less than a year. Had to replace the power control and some internal transformers myself.

Great deal. I was torn between this (77) and the G5 from the partner store but couldn't find a workable 15% code.

You don't get the peace of mind of Costco's warranty/return policy, and the extra Allstate warranty. It's much easier to return to Costco if you have an issue. A lot of people have complained about LG's customer service. So, it depends on what you care about. Do you want to save a few hundred dollars up front, that you'll have forgotten about in a year, or do you want peace of mind?

S90F is better due to better tech - QD OLED vs WOLED

The partner store offer for the 77" C5 with soundbar and free mounting for $1,620 was the best deal I could find on this TV. Thankfully, I placed my order last night - now the 77" C5 is already out of stock on the partner website.

ah i see, that makes sense. i was thinking for the price diff you could get the warranty separately. im trying to find one <$1500 after tax to use the paypal coupon but looks like maybe not going to happen this year
