For a 13 year old, unless they're dead set on playing portably, I would probably look for a deal on a desktop instead (there's been $500-$600 deals this week that are more powerful than this). Less headaches. If gaming laptops get dusty at all inside, they're already pushing overheating territory because there's no space for the heat to dissipate. Some of them are really annoying to clean, with risk of breaking things in the process. If you want to dock it with the lid closed, they also tend to run hotter and louder. I have one that runs a little hot and sounds like a jet engine on resource-intensive games even when it's perfectly clean with fresh thermal paste.

Except: USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (DisplayPort™ 1.4, 140W Power Delivery, 10Gbps data transfer rate)
CPU - The Victus has a Ryzen 7 7445HS which is 54% faster in aggregate benchmark scores than the Ryzen 5 7235HS in the Lenovo.
GPU - While both laptops feature the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050, the Victus has less power, limiting its performance.
Display - The technical specs are similar but users report the Lenovo's colors run together and have a pinkish hue.
Power - The HP has a proprietary power connector. The Lenovo has USB-C power which is easier to replace and run more power through your laptop for improved performance.
I'd choose the Victus - You'll notice the slower CPU long before seeing a difference in the GPU performance. You will notice the improved display in the HP. The proprietary power connector isn't ideal, but people lived with them for decades and no one died.
For an extra $100/150 over the Victus/this one, it's much more future proof, for just $2-4 per month (assuming 3-5 year life conservatively).
Btw, I bought it a few days ago, and it's arriving today.
