This CanvasTV stands out as an art style TV with a matte finish, slim wall mount, and a design that opens up living room space. The built in artwork looks great, the picture is described as strong for the price, and the set draws plenty of compliments. The included mount is easy to install, and the TV can switch into art mode when powered off. Caveats center on Google TV stability and some reports of random reboots or choppy playback, though the UI itself is often described as fine.
Common Questions (5)
It is described as very close to the Samsung Frame in overall quality, with several comments calling the picture amazing for the price. The matte art display and thin design are also praised, though one comment says the panel is edge-lit and not a major step up over similar Hisense or TCL art TVs.
The built-in software is reported as fine by some owners, but others describe Google TV on Hisense sets as prone to random reboots and occasional choppy playback that may require a power cycle. One owner says the TCL equivalent has been lag-free, suggesting the issue may be specific to the Hisense version.
Pressing the power button switches between TV mode and art mode, and the screen shows art when powered off rather than a plain black screen. Holding the power button is needed to fully turn the unit off.
Yes. It comes with an ultra-slim wall mount and also includes two leg stands. The mount is reported to be easy to install, and the set can be used either wall-mounted or on the included legs.
Yes. A Roku Ultra works fine for apps that are not built in, and the TV remote can still control it well enough for everyday use. This is a practical workaround if you prefer a different smart TV platform or need missing apps.

We just got this a couple days ago and mounted it. Didn't have a flush or recessed outlet where we hung it up, so you can the cord but it does look great.
Anyone else who has this... is there an easy way to plug in an HDMI cable without having to remove it from the wall? I'm waiting for a slim cable to be delivered and didn't have it at the time we mounted it. In retrospect, I should have waited for that cable but was too anxious to get it up on the wall lol.
While I haven't double checked the specs, I tend to prefer external streaming devices for their snappiness and support for formats I enjoy (Atmos, Dolby Vision, etc.).
The picture quality is amazing for packing it into something so thin at this price, IMO.
The sound is decent, but again....all you could expect, given the depth of the set.
Personally I don't like GoogleTV either. For the 6 months I've had my Hisense GoogleTV, it's rebooted on me 9-10 times randomly, at times it glitch and reboot multiple times in a row.
The video playback would also be choppy at times, you would need to turn off/on the TV again to fix it.
Samsung/Tizen isn't perfect, but definitely don't remember as many random reboots or choppy videos. Similarly AppleTV has been great (and NO ads!!).
Just to be clear, there isn't a UI lag. Rather there is random reboot when using GoogleTV -- e.g., watching Netflix and reboot randomly, and lag in terms of movie (e.g., chopping video like insufficient bandwidth).
Just sharing my experience with GoogleTV (on hisense u75 specifically).
They said they bought Samsung's version of this TV and your response is "Samsung equivalent is trash"..... uhhh do you seriously think calling something they paid good money for + they like "trash" is an appropriate response? It's not only inflammatory, but also absolutely a stupid comment with nothing of substance.
Then when they brought up the picture quality. You immediately cut that point off, prioritizing your own, unrelated criticism (the OS). This shows that you're not interested in a dialogue, you just want to assert your own views. And funny enough, the OS is probably the least important thing when it comes to TVs since you can just plug in something running whatever OS you want. I couldn't tell you the last time I actually had to look at my TV's built in OS after the initial setup since I use an Nvidia Shield/Fire sticks for everything.
And then you address the picture quality with "hurr durr edge lit displays are bad" uh okay? But compare the two side by side, the Samsung's display is SIGNIFICANTLY better in just about every aspect. The blooming on the Hisense is atrocious, not to mention the completely dull and low-brightness image which is extremely important for a matte display.
And most importantly your "So LOL on the better picture statement" comment after that ^ nonsense directly ridicules their opinion, which isn't even an opinion tbh, because it's just the truth that Samsung's picture quality is significantly better than this Hisense alternative.
Compare the contrast and blooming of this hisense: https://i.rtings.com/assets/produ...ormat=a
to the Samsung (not even the Pro version mind you): https://i.rtings.com/assets/produ...ormat=a
So yea, go get your eyes checked out cuz holy cow you must be blind as a bat.
For the record I owned a 2022 Frame. Yup, paid good money for it. Three years later it started to delaminate and display dark vertical shadows across the entire display. So you bet your ass I reserve the right to call it what it was: TRASH. Trash longevity and trash UI. Sorry calling it where it belongs is triggering you and your boyfriend. And for the record I claim no partiality towards Hisense(I don't even own this TV FFS!!) or any other TV like it. Having the option to hook up a Roku or APTV to it doesn't excuse Samsung from charging a premium 'cause of it's ability to masquerade as a painting - all the while underperforming in all other categories. You make it sound like the picture quality is amazing on the Frame when in reality it's just lipstick on a pig. Yes it's better, but still nothing to write home about and therefore not worth the significant premium over it's competitors imo.
But wait, I can do one better you. Since you're a RTINGS fanboy, here is a direct quote from them on the Frame 2024 that I'm sure you conveniently ignored:
Unfortunately, its picture quality isn't nearly as unique as its design, and there are much better TVs loaded with features you can get with your money, like the Hisense U8/U8N and TCL QM8/QM851G QLED. Inversely, for a cheaper direct alternative, look up the Hisense CanvasTV QLED 2024 or the TCL NXTVISION. They're all art TVs with matte coatings, and perform relatively similarly, even if the Samsung is the better performer of the three. Still, it comes at a premium, so consider the other models before making your choice.
Maybe.

You: "Samsung equivalent is trash." (Substance: Zero. Maturity: Below zero)
Me: "You are blind as a bat for ignoring visible evidence." (Substance: High, backed by comparison links. Maturity: Matched to your level)
Oh, you owned a model three years ago that had a specific defect? Wow, a single anecdotal issue from an older generation, three years later, justifies a blanket, present-day declaration of "TRASH"? That's not a valid critique; that's just a childish grudge. Should everyone who ever got a flat tire call all cars "TRASH"? Grow up.
The only thing that was "TRASH" was your ability to provide any evidence other than a personal grievance, which, ironically, you admit was a premium TV you paid good money for. You're calling yourself "trash" for buying it lmao
The funniest part is your desperate attempt to quote RTINGS back at me. Let me repeat the line you quoted, slowly: "They're all art TVs with matte coatings, and perform relatively similarly, even if the Samsung is the better performer of the three." Also 2024 > your 2022 Frame lol.
You used a quote that explicitly says the Samsung is the BETTER PERFORMER to try and prove it's worse. Seriously? You think I "conveniently ignored" the quote that validates my entire point? The only thing I take from your response is that I was right: You're blind as a bat and now we know you're not even as smart as one.

What I quoted backed up what I initially said in that despite being the higher rated display, it's really nothing to write home about vs the competition. My quote of RTINGS backs this up. Also, if you browse other threads in SD you will find others who have reported similar failures like mine. Lastly, cope all you want but the 2022 and 2024 Frame's are very similar. Not much was changed. It was trash then and remains so to this day. Just like your comments lmao.
Moving along...
