The Breville Bambino is a highly rated entry level espresso machine that is praised for fast heat up, reliable daily use, and solid espresso extraction from its 15 bar pump and 9 bar brewing limit. The compact machine is also seen as a strong value at this price, especially compared with new units. The main caution is Amazon resale condition and warranty risk, since used units can arrive scratched, dirty, cracked, or missing parts, and used products generally do not include a manufacturer warranty. It is a compelling option if the condition checks out and the return window is enough for peace of mind.
Common Questions (4)
Some units arrive scratched, dirty, taped up, or clearly used, and reported defects include missing parts, broken items, and cracked water reservoirs or stress cracks around the water-bin holder. It is worth checking the tank and plastic mounting points immediately and returning it if you see damage.
At $182, it is a strong discount versus a new unit bought for $269, and the Bambino is widely regarded as one of the best entry-level espresso machines. Some shoppers also mention getting it even lower with a PayPal or Amex points offer.
Yes. The pump is rated for 15 bars, but an internal over-pressure valve limits brewing pressure to around 9 bars, which is the standard target for espresso extraction. That setup is meant to avoid stressing the pump while still pulling proper espresso.
Used units generally do not include a manufacturer warranty, only Amazon's 30-day return window. That makes the deal attractive on price, but it also means you need to inspect it quickly for defects like pump issues, cracks, or missing parts.

Doubt amazon resale employs espresso connoisseurs to test these returns
I am using a low-cost brand machine claims 20 bar, bought a year ago at ~$100, it is ok. not sure how this one compares, it's 9 bar

9 bar extraction: The actual pressure applied to the coffee grounds during the brewing process is regulated by an internal over-pressure valve (OPV) to around 9 bars. This is the industry standard for optimal espresso extraction, ensuring even flow through the coffee puck for rich, complex flavors
Those with an Amex pay with points offer could get this even cheaper as it's concerned shipped and sold be Amazon. I was able to get the price to $167 with my pay with points offer
Used products generally DO NOT come with a manufacturer's warranty, only Amazon's 30-day return policy.
