the lowest price ever for these was $20.99 and that was in Jan 2025. it's been going up and down from $23 to $42 since. the average price in the past year was over $30, so that's simply not true.
even if you look at the other variations with the funky colors, which have been around the $26 price, it still makes this deal 35% cheaper. which means you can get 3 for the price of 2.

People buy the stuff by seeing the discount showed on this site and the stuff never sold that price.....a normal human psychology which the marketing teams knows the best. This was never sold for $42 and mostly around $20 or so. This is not a real deal.

That's incorrect. They were $13.99 in October, I purchased 3 packs on 10/16 shipped sold by Amazon.

Specific size for a specific color, and probably limited stock and limited time. Amazon sometimes reduces prices for specific variations based on price matching or decrease sales. Doesn't mean that's the price they're going for, if you're lucky you can find reduced prices for anything, size wise.
