I have this tablet and love it. The glare is kind of strong at times but that's my only complaint

I just purchased the cheaper Tab Plus a couple of days ago, but ended up buying this today and will be returning the other. The CUP/GPU upgrades are worth the money, and they expand its capabilities beyond just the media player I was looking for.

The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro comes across as a fast midrange Android tablet that shines for indoor media, browsing, and pen use. The Dimensity 8300 chip, 8GB of RAM, and included Tab Pen Plus make it feel responsive, with better pen accuracy, stronger speakers, and a nicer screen than the cheaper Tab Plus. Video-out support and the large 12.7 inch 3K display add to its appeal. The main knocks are brightness and glare, plus Lenovo's limited Android update policy. A solid value pick if you want more than a basic media tablet.

  • Indoor readers and video watchers who want a fast mid-range tablet, because the screen stays usable indoors and the processor feels quick for browsing and media.

    JulianS31jwhite326BigPun

  • Note-takers and sketchers who want an included stylus, because the pen feels accurate and the bundled tip makes handwriting and drawing feel natural.

    ptt1404Zakozjwhite326

  • Tablet multitaskers who want desktop-style video output, because it can send video out in both regular and PC mode while staying faster than older media-focused tablets.

    ZakozAshEbayerKHibs

  • Value-focused buyers who want strong hardware for the price, because the CPU upgrade and overall performance make it feel worth paying a little more.

    AshEbayerKHibsjoshuaNH

  • Outdoor readers and movie watchers who need a bright screen, because glare can be strong and the panel can look much dimmer than advertised.

    solar99999ptt1404ptt1404

  • People who expect long-term Android support, because Lenovo limits this tablet to two major OS updates and a short update window.

    ahtohjoshuaNHDrRad

  • Shoppers who need dependable holiday delivery, because shipping dates can slip after purchase and orders may arrive later than promised.

    jbstromq2n

  • Minimalists who want a clean setup out of the box, because the tablet can arrive with bloatware and may need extra accessories not included.

If your someone who primarily uses this indoors I don't think that should be a problem, the 400nits, considering the price point and also that it's not only cheaper than a comfortable Samsung S10 Tab Fan Edition but it's also faster.

I think the deal downside for people is the limited years of updates this device will get. That said, for this price point and for the size I think this is an excellent mid-range tablet.

Was going for the pro version since has the bigger screen and faster processor but now debating between the pro for $247 or the 12.1" plus for $172. Any advice?

Really thinking about pulling trigger on this. Anything comparable at the price point?
Edit: With 15% cashback too from Lenovo, decided I had to go for it.

Many comments like this in the Plus threads and the specs bear it out. Pay a little more, get a lot more. (Both of those are subjective lol.)

So not sure why so little love for this deal today. Snagged one for the FIL at $234 pretax, don't think he'll want an exchange. Of course, I might have to debloat and preconfigure for him so the truth will be known.

I also cancelled the PLUS. $212 PLUS shipped with pen & folio, this was $236 for the Pro & pen, and with a more powerful CPU which seems to matter the most in these. Def worth it.
