I have this tablet and love it. The glare is kind of strong at times but that's my only complaint

I just purchased the cheaper Tab Plus a couple of days ago, but ended up buying this today and will be returning the other. The CUP/GPU upgrades are worth the money, and they expand its capabilities beyond just the media player I was looking for.

The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro comes across as a fast midrange Android tablet that shines for indoor media, browsing, and pen use. The Dimensity 8300 chip, 8GB of RAM, and included Tab Pen Plus make it feel responsive, with better pen accuracy, stronger speakers, and a nicer screen than the cheaper Tab Plus. Video-out support and the large 12.7 inch 3K display add to its appeal. The main knocks are brightness and glare, plus Lenovo's limited Android update policy. A solid value pick if you want more than a basic media tablet.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is generally fine for indoor use, but glare can be noticeable and the screen is often described as closer to about 250-300 nits than the advertised 400 nits. For daytime viewing, many users keep brightness around two-thirds; low brightness can be a dealbreaker if you watch a lot of movies or YouTube in bright rooms.

  • For browsing, videos, and general non-power-user tasks, it is described as quick and responsive. The Dimensity 8300 and 8GB RAM are also viewed as a meaningful upgrade over the Tab Plus for heavier use.

  • Lenovo's policy limits this tablet to 2 major OS updates, with support expected through Android 16 rather than beyond it. Security updates are expected to continue until about 2028, so the hardware can stay useful even though long-term OS support is limited.

  • The Pro has a faster CPU/GPU, a heavier body, a nicer screen, slightly better speakers, and a more accurate pen. That extra performance is the main reason several buyers chose the Pro over the cheaper Tab Plus.

  • Yes, it can do video-out in both regular mode and PC mode. That feature is a key reason some buyers preferred it over Samsung tablets with DeX, and it also comes with a magnetic Bluetooth stylus plus an extra tip.

Any comparative thoughts?

I want to go to S10 FE+ 13 inch but this is beyond my budget.

dont listen to those people who love this tablet. I have this for my wife and yoga pro for me. I dont like the screen of this tablet at all. it is worse than the onn tablet 12.1 recently on sale from vipoutlet open box for $96. Low brightness screen is massive deal killer for me watching movies or youtube videos. Get Yogo pro or yoga plus they are same for 650 nits brightness (I measure 580 nits) ans this one has around 300 nits not 400 nits. Also get rid of 11" m5 ipad pro they are fast with tandem oled with just 490 nits (apple falsely claims it 1000 nits in sdr)

Trying to track my package from Lenovo and UPS said they have it but it's missing a destination (!!!) and sender (???), and I need to ask sender (Lenovo) to fix. I called Lenovo and they say they did everything right, I double checked if my address is right and of course it is, and package was picked up. WTF

UPS website says:

Estimated delivery
Wednesday, December 03 by End of Day

Past Event
We Have Your Package
Mebane, NC, United States
12/01/2025, 8:37 P.M.

Current Event
On the Way
Mebane, NC, United States
12/02/2025, 3:39 A.M.

The UPS people are NOT intelligible. I dare you to call them right now, you literally cannot understand them once they get past the rehearsed lines like "hello, how can I help you". When they say things that are not in the script they are not comprehensible. For example they were saying words in reverse order and inventing new words, like instead of "call us" they will say "us call" but put the words close together like "uscall".

The UPS people are basically saying somehow they have my package but their system is missing both a sender and a destination, which is kind of a big oversight for a multi billion dollar company to forget to include, and it's now my job to convince Lenovo to do a "manifest scan", I told Lenovo this stuff but they just said they shipped it out normally like all their bazillion other packages.

What the hell do I do? Is my package going to come to me tomorrow?

I have the S7, 10-inch. I have the 2-year-old version of this tablet, and I find myself using the Lenovo more than my Samsung. The Samsung display has better blacks and a nicer display.

Personally, I like Lenovo's prices when they are on sale, they are well-balanced value within my budget.
