The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro comes across as a fast midrange Android tablet that shines for indoor media, browsing, and pen use. The Dimensity 8300 chip, 8GB of RAM, and included Tab Pen Plus make it feel responsive, with better pen accuracy, stronger speakers, and a nicer screen than the cheaper Tab Plus. Video-out support and the large 12.7 inch 3K display add to its appeal. The main knocks are brightness and glare, plus Lenovo's limited Android update policy. A solid value pick if you want more than a basic media tablet.

  • The tablet can feel quick and responsive for browsing and video playback.

  • The Pro model can offer meaningful CPU and GPU upgrades beyond basic media playback.

  • The included Tab Pen Plus experience can exceed expectations for note taking and use.

  • The tablet can support video-out in both regular and PC modes, unlike some Samsung DEX setups.

  • Brightness performance can fall well below the advertised 400 nits, making indoor and movie use less satisfying.

  • Shipping reliability can be inconsistent, with at least one delayed delivery leading to an order cancellation.

  • The screen glare can be strong at times, which may affect viewing comfort.

  • Lenovo update policy can limit OS upgrades to the current Android 16 version and two major updates total.

Trying to track my package from Lenovo and UPS said they have it but it's missing a destination (!!!) and sender (???), and I need to ask sender (Lenovo) to fix. I called Lenovo and they say they did everything right, I double checked if my address is right and of course it is, and package was picked up. WTF

UPS website says:

Estimated delivery
Wednesday, December 03 by End of Day

Past Event
We Have Your Package
Mebane, NC, United States
12/01/2025, 8:37 P.M.

Current Event
On the Way
Mebane, NC, United States
12/02/2025, 3:39 A.M.

The UPS people are NOT intelligible. I dare you to call them right now, you literally cannot understand them once they get past the rehearsed lines like "hello, how can I help you". When they say things that are not in the script they are not comprehensible. For example they were saying words in reverse order and inventing new words, like instead of "call us" they will say "us call" but put the words close together like "uscall".

The UPS people are basically saying somehow they have my package but their system is missing both a sender and a destination, which is kind of a big oversight for a multi billion dollar company to forget to include, and it's now my job to convince Lenovo to do a "manifest scan", I told Lenovo this stuff but they just said they shipped it out normally like all their bazillion other packages.

What the hell do I do? Is my package going to come to me tomorrow?

Lol! No worries, their shipping is messed up. Email says "Great news! Your order is on the way." Click to Track and site says "In process."

But wait, it's "on the way!" Really don't think they know or are able to pull up the true status. Just have to be patient, wait a day or three.

Ho, ho, ho, merry Christmas! lol

EDIT
Site still says: "Your order is waiting to be processed." No it's not, it's here in my hand lol!

144hz ? Scoured the description and specs and didn't see that. All I saw was something about 90fps in Pub G mobile and a 360hz polling rate.

Best Buy is selling the 256GB / 8GB model for $299.99 and open box excellent condition for $226.99.

I bought the same tablet 3 months ago for $276.99. This was the open box excellent condition.

Does the $247 include the pen or do I have to add that separately?

Oh looks like it does

Man, I wished I had seen that; I'd been looking through BB Open Box, but missed that one.

In any event, I just ordered one of these through Lenovo, and it arrived yesterday. I'm not a power user, but in my opinion, it's pretty quick and responsive, and the pen experience is better than I expected. I am satisfied with the purchase for this price, though had I been able to get it for $227, that would have been even better.

Don't bother. They won't deliver in time although they promise it in a couple days. Had to cancel an order that was SUPPOSED to ship Monday but they pushed it back to after Christmas. If I had known Lenovo was this unethical about promising delivery dates and then changing them after paying then I would've gone with a Best Buy deal instead... but too late.

It was "...in my hand..." 3 days ago.

Judging from comments, it seems that some (a few?) have trouble w/ shipping. Just hope you don't get to be in that group.

yup...

you can expect OS upgrades until around 2027, and security updates until about 2028.

But the hardware for this price is still a GREAT choice.

I'd abandoned Lenovo for Samsung, but I went back and got this tablet for Christmas.
My two Samsungs can't hold a candle to this, as their DEX won't do video-out like this will --in both reg and PC Mode.
This big IPS screen looks better than the Samsungs, and I haven't had any problems w/ brightness.
The magnetic BT stylus included an extra tip and feels right in the hand.
128Gig size/8G Ram, even at the $100 off Sale price for this Beast.
The only letdown was all the bloatware that I removed, a cable but no charger in the box, no video cable in the box, and it's not very friendly w/ Smart Launcher at all.

I'm happy with it after having this for a few weeks. Initially was concerned about the brightness but haven't had to use it at fully brightness yet, typically at 2\3 brightness during the day and lower it at night. Only use it for an browsing and videos, plenty powerful and great price.
