I see where you're coming from, but a lot of people prefer to have physical page turn buttons for their e-readers. For whatever reason, only a few models offer them these days. This is at least a way to get that function.

It is ridiculous....but...many times when I'm in bed, my second hand/arm is either under the blanker or under my head, so it's crazy, but also could be useful
Physical buttons aren't lazy- they're intuitive. If anybody deserves criticism for the existence of this device, it's the people at Amazon who decided to remove the physical buttons on the Kindle.

There was a similar product deal posted the other day with a similar comment. Someone made a good point that they had a disability where having this is helpful. I don't remember the specific quote, but it's in that comment thread for the deal. Also I agree with the point about using it if you read in bed.
It's not just about laziness. In the winter my bedroom is freezing cold and PG&E is going up to 50c/kW soon so it's $$$ to run electric heater. This will allow me to read under the covers using hot water bottle
