Also adds wireless charging and Live Translation and speaker for Find My. Probably worth $19 in my opinion

It's not fantastic ANC but it is noticeable and actually nice to have - and/or transparency mode as well.

Community Reviews

AirPods 4 with ANC are being treated as a comfortable, non in ear option with useful noise cancellation and a feature set that adds wireless charging, Live Translation, and a Find My speaker. ANC is described as noticeably effective for fans, cars, air conditioners, airplane noise, and loud gyms, while transparency mode and the fit get praise too. The main drawbacks are that the microphones for calls are weak, stem volume control is missing, and the ANC version can cost more than the base model. A solid pick if you want AirPods convenience without silicone tips.

  • people who want noticeable active noise cancellation for everyday travel and errands because commenters say it noticeably cuts down airplane noise and even silences hums from fans, cars, air conditioners, and leaf blowers.

    auxiliarytherivershark

  • AirPods buyers who care about call clarity less than noise reduction because multiple commenters still find the ANC/transparency useful even if they're not expecting "fantastic" ANC.

    J-marksthespotGreyShoe978

  • buyers who are specifically shopping for the ANC version at a strong promo price because commenters describe stacking discounts (e.g., Amex rewards/gift cards) to bring the total down dramatically.

    Neelmochriss7912

  • gym-goers upgrading from older AirPods because one commenter said they upgraded to the AirPods 4 ANC for a loud gym and it was totally worth it.

    HolaNan

  • people who want a simpler fit without worrying about ear-tip seal management because a commenter using AirPods Pro 2 said they don't have to deal with keeping a seal or correct ear tip size with AirPods 4.

    HilariousString9069

  • buyers who are sensitive to reliability/defects because commenters report issues like one earbud having reduced volume after buying the ANC model and also mention defective AirPods experiences (e.g., high-pitched hissing) with Apple refusing help.

    TrukyattoSkillfulBoundary280

  • people who mainly buy for phone calls because one commenter warned the microphones for calls are "atrocious."

    LanceDanceRevolution

  • buyers who are considering the non-ANC model for noisy environments because commenters comparing non-ANC vs ANC say the non-ANC version is hard to hear in many situations and ANC makes a big difference.

    GreyShoe978

  • buyers who need guaranteed pairing right away because one commenter said the $69.99 deal arrived but wouldn't pair.

    rsax777

  • buyers who are expecting a "deal" to include noise cancellation from every retailer because a commenter said Best Buy's $80 deal of the day does not include noise cancellation.

I never realized how much I wanted/needed wireless charging till I had it and then tried to go back to a set with wired. Live translation is huge and the speaker on find my has made that process so much easier

Can't decide if anc is worth it.
I just got them a few days ago. Had the originals ... way more comfortable and ANC is good. I have the AirPods Pro 2 as well but don't like them at the gym as much. So different use case for each for me

I have the Airpod pro 2. Got these for backup. While the pros are better, they are not twice as expensive better. These sound good and have decent anc. Also, you don't have to worry about keeping the seal and using the correct size ear tip like the pro. I find it quite annoying and noticeable when one of my pro earbuds doesn't have a good seal. Not an issue with these.

Amazon has too many fakes - have any other retailers price matched?
