This Simpson 4400 PSI, 4.0 GPM gas washer stands out for raw cleaning power and a price far below comparable Honda powered models. The triplex pump and commercial frame are framed as a major step up from axial cam units, and the flow rate should cut cleaning time on decks, driveways, and siding. The main cautions are pump reliability and Simpson support, with reports of no pressure out of the box, overheating if run dry, and slow warranty or return handling. It looks like a strong value if you are prepared to maintain it carefully.

  • The AAA triplex pump can deliver long service life when pump oil is kept changed regularly.

  • The CRX420 engine includes low-oil shutdown, which can help protect the washer during operation.

  • The deal price is far below a comparable Home Depot Simpson 4400 PSI 4.0 GPM unit with a Honda engine.

  • Woot reportedly processed a return and ultimately issued a full refund after pickup.

  • The AAA triplex pump has reportedly shown known quality issues on this model, leading to cancellations after reading reviews.

  • Warranty repairs reportedly leave the washer out of service for weeks while repairs are underway.

  • Running the unit without spraying for 1-2 minutes can reportedly overheat the pump.

  • A first-use report described no pressure out of the box even after purging air for 2-3 minutes, prompting a refund request.

At this price, if it can hold up for 3-4 washes a year for 2 years, it's a no brainer. Yes Honda engine is better, but for non-commercial use, 4400psi with 4 gpm it should cut time in half. I got one myself just before posting.

Ordered but then cancelled after reading more in depth reviews. Many problems with this AAA triplex pump and supposedly known Simpson quality issues on this model.
I'm sure true but triplex pump is a huge upgrade from normal axial cam pumps in ever model including commercial units. I bought karcher 3200 oct 3200 psi and triplex pump. Literally a tank, had for 5-6 years, ran like a champ with just oil and spark plug change. Used only recreational non ethanol gas.

I've read so many reviews of poor customer service from Simpson. It would be parts other than the pump breaking that Simpson would say is due to natural wear and tear, things leaking into each other and you are SOL after year 2. I have seen so many 4 out of 5 star reviews on their washers, and reading more in depth into each, they all state customer service is abysmal. People are also getting damaged Simpsons from Home Depot, can you image Woot from this deal?

The warranty does cover it but you will be without a pressure washing for a few weeks during repair. Pro tip... don't let people borrow it ; Your brother will ask to borrow it, your sister, your parents, your neighbors, your friends ... just say NO. That's when mine has always broken (i'm not sure what people do to it to break it Mad Also only use E85 (non-ethanyol gas)
They ran it without actually spraying. It only takes 1-2 minutes of not spraying to overheat the pump.

I bit and just ordered one. Here are my tips to making the best of this purchase.
  1. FIND A PLACE that sells ethanol free fuel. Boat marinas do. Worse case pay the extra for the pure fuel at homedepot (although its a ripoff)
  2. NEVER start the engine without water flowing through the pump.
  3. After EVERY USE at minimum use the fuel shut off and run the carb dry. AKA run the dang thing until it doesn't run anymore and runs out of fuel. In my case I will use a hand transfer pump to get all gas out and then run it dry after each use (with water flowing through the pump the whole time).
I am sure their is more I am forgetting but those are the main things. You are about to spend $500 on a fine piece of machinery please take care of it and your future self will thank you.

E85 *is* Ethanol. 85% Ethanol in fact..

Did you mean Pure Gas?

I have the AAA triplex pump on a DeWalt 4200 That's about 13 years old. I have used the hell out of it without any issues. Keep the oil in the pump changed and you won't have any issues.

If I purchase a lawn and garden Asurion warranty on Amazon, will it be covered as I purchased in Woot (an Amazon company)? I can't find anything confirming this for sure.

If you want BIFL, Honda + CaT pump. ALWAYS. Worth the extra $$$.

It's about fault tolerance with seals and gaskets. CaT > AAA triplex > Axial pump. This isn't a bad price point, but if you can budget the extra for a Cat pump + Honda, always go for that pair.

PSI is overrated. 4.0 GPM is solid.

I don't know if I trust woot shipping to fully seal against a dented unit. Can they even accept returns b/c oil is included?

I'm changing it roughly every 15 to 20 hours. Excessive? Absolutely but, I don't want to have to buy another pressure washer. Prices have more than doubled from what I paid for it.

I've been using gas powered pressure cleaners for over 20 years. Tried mine out for the first time today and no pressure. I made sure I purged all the air out of the system for a good 2-3 minutes before starting the unit for the first time. I just contacted via email Woot to try and get a refund. As stated above, this model has know pump issues, but out of the box is crazy!
