The story is a big part of the repetitive rogue lite design. It's what makes it NOT boring and repetitive. You're supposed to fail & die to try again until you succeed.

This is one of the few games with an "Overwhelmingly Positive" review status on Steam.

Got this game on a whim a few years ago just cuz I heard so much about it and it apparently swept GOTY awards that year.

I got hooked. One of my fav games ever when all said and done. It is a Rogue Like game which some do not prefer.

Just waiting for the sequel to drop on console although I figured it would be hard to surpass the original.

If you've been on the fence about buying this game, just do it. The amount of fun and entertainment you'll get for eight measly dollars is incredible. Knowing what I know now after finishing this game and Hades 2, I'd happily spend $50-$60 on it. Easily one of the top 10 games I've played in the last decade.

Fantastic game. Controls are tight, easy to grasp hard to master, runs are 20-40 minutes long. After you beat it once there's stil replay value, different runs w different weapons and challenge rules and you're continually opening up dialogue/lore and new stuff in the central hub.

2 is definitely bigger and maybe "better"? but it's PC only, i think. And hades 1 feels so tightly edited compared to 2. I enjoy em both.
