I got the qc35 a couple years ago (so I reckon this be a newer model than what I have) and they're amazing - sound is great, very confortable, great battery life

XM3s beat these out and we are on XM6s now. Would recommend spending a few extra dollars to at least get a refurbished XM4s at this price.
That's largely untrue. These vs the XM4 are pretty much a wash, with the Sony's leaning more to a slightly more bass heavy signature.

The XM5/6 are better but have durability issues.

I absolutely hate my xm5s. They're so hot on my ears that they're literally drenched in sweat after a 15min walk from work to PT in NYC

I saw a few posts on Reddit about it. I think Sony reinforced the hinges on the XM6's but it still could be a possible issue

https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyHead...xm6_hinge/

It's a bummer since I've had the WH-H900N for about 6 years or so now and they've been problem free for probably a few thousand hours, but the ANC isn't the greatest (it's not bad, but it certainly was never a match for the higher end Sony's like the current mid-rangers are)

I picked up these Bose - mostly because they don't have the durability issues, but they retain the same design as the older QC models we were given at work at my last job in the office which were the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. I just couldn't justify the $250 price tag on them.

You can get a new set from Amazon if you have AMEX points and are targeted for the $60 promo. Use $5 worth of points and knocks down the price to $99 after $60 discount for a new pair.

Owning both the 1000xm4 & these, the sound quality of both are good for BT (with the slight edge going to the XM4s, in my experience). But the earcups on the Bose are bigger (more comfortable), while the sony earpads (stock) were uncomfortable after a couple hours - too shallow for my ears). Thicker, aftermarket pads resolved that issue for me, but for those prioritizing comfort over pain for hours-long listening, the Bose (in stock form) win, easily, IME.

I find the XM4s to be ever so slightly more detailed when tuned (by it's app) compared to the Quietcomforts - with both similarlu EQ'd.
So, the sound quality is similar (both pleasant & good (considering the limitations of current BT technonogy). For most users, the long-term advantage of the QCs superior comfort will be much more significant for a long-term positive user experience.
