I'm not sure this is correct - the link takes you to the Turbotax Online site and that's what the offer says.
It worked last year supposedly. I think you don't need the Amex affiliate link and they just look for a purchase from turbotax.com. I have not verified personally.

When you go to the turbotax amex link (not the link slickdeals sends you to which is different), click on the heading on the top left where it says "file your taxes" and then in the second column right under other filing options choose "turbotax desktop". And then you can purchase the desktop version for $70 going directly from the Amex link.
