Shows $1729.99 for me. Also, don't forget 15% Cashback from you know where.

The previous FB deal included a free upgrade to 2 TB SSD, as an FYI.

Alienware Aurora desktop with an Ultra 7 265F and RTX 5080 is drawing attention as a high end prebuilt whose value depends on the configuration. The strongest appeal is the bundled hardware, especially the graphics card, liquid cooling, 1000 watt power supply, and case, with some pricing math putting the package near parts cost before extras. The main drawbacks are the 16GB of RAM, which feels light at this price, and Dell memory behavior that appears to drop non Dell RAM to 4800 MT per second. The advertised 10 percent coupon and cart pricing have also failed for this item, and heat and thermal throttling are recurring concerns.

Common Questions (5)

  • The 10% coupon does not apply to this desktop and is reported to work on monitors instead. The discounted price also may not appear in the cart, so the checkout total can stay unchanged.

    XMotoXjefflinsiyggmastr85

  • Non-Dell memory reportedly runs at 4800MT/s instead of its rated XMP/EXPO speed. That means aftermarket DDR5 upgrades may not reach their advertised profile settings in this system.

    BiresRAMGuyBires

  • The 16GB RAM configuration is the main reason the system lands around $1,730, and it is considered tight for a machine with an RTX 5080. Upgrading RAM at order time is important because the motherboard reportedly has only one RAM slot.

    WARHAWKSSmattbslick

  • The system is reported to run hot and can thermal throttle under load. That makes cooling a practical concern for a desktop built around a 125W processor and high-end GPU.

    feldman011teenjefflins

  • Yes. The lighting option can be removed by starting from Dell's base configuration instead of using the linked build.

There've been a couple recently for essentially the same thing, just different configurations.

This has 3% more cash back which is roughly $50. So it comes out to roughly $30 more than black Friday.

Serious question: Will these Dell mobo's use XMP or XPO memory settings if we want to upgrade the mem in about five years when it's affordable again?

No, it'll run at 4800MT/s if it detects non-Dell memory

And the price is really 150 higher because you really aren't getting a 5080 and skipping the K processor which is a hundo plus 50 bucks for the poor lighting kit which is mandatory at that point with a 125w tsp processor.

Yes, you can remove the lighting option. Just go to dell base config instead of using the link in the post.
