Hm. No mention of wifi. Like to know what's going on as I set it up and then head out to pick up the kids. Not a deal breaker tho.

You'll need an Instant Pot Pro plus model for that set up, I think.

Yes, I have the Pro Plus. I don't think the app or WiFi is that helpful, honestly. If I could go back I'd be fine with just the regular Pro. The main advantages over the base IP are the pot and handles. The pot is a higher grade and the handles make it much nicer taking the pot out.

Depending on your use case or what you may already own, I would look into the 11 in 1 model that also has the air fryer. The pro model of that doesn't require an additional plugin when you use the air fryer. I use both the air fryer functionality and pressure cooker functionality all the time on it.

The pot is also stovetop safe. So not only can you take it out and reheat on the stove, you also have a spare pot sitting around if you ever need it.

I have a really basic instant pot that's a few years old, can't even do low pressure mode. However I personally can't think of what I'm missing out on... Is it worth it to upgrade? Inner pot with handles is a great feature for sure

Does anyone know where I can buy an extra 8qt pot with handles? They seem difficult to find.

Pro Plus has an electrically controlled steam release valve instead of a mechanical one which allows pre-setting of steam release in several ways. Its optional unattended automatic steam release setting following the p.c. cycle prevents ruined food. There is a pulsed release option to protect the texture of food when neither instant release nor natural release are appropriate as in fish and beef.. Pro Plus has a "nutriboost" setting which improves soup, risotto and rice results. Even if you don't use these, the automatic purging of air as pressure cooking begins can improve food quality by reducing oxidation and allows for more even cooking. Pro Plus is touch screen operated. I had these features on Instant Pot Max but only miss them occasionally. The pop-up valve can be depressed manually right after it rises to purge air.
