I have a couple of these Rover Lights; easy recommend. They're just workhorse lights that you'll reach for for day-to-day; they have a magnet and keyhole slots on the rear, but I've never used the magnet so YMMV.
If you already own a handful of M12 batteries, they may also come in pinch during a power outage. "Low" is still fairly bright, and can last one night with the included 2 Ah battery. Obviously for actual work you'll use "High" most of the time.

Funny, I nearly 100% of the time use the magnet. I leave it stuck to my toolbox for storage, then stick it to the car wherever I need it (except for aluminum hoods).

i have this light and it sucks... it gets in your eyes when your working on cars ,.. those folding lights are better such as icon at harbor freight , it doesn't get into your eyes at all and is way brighter then this light ..
I have those too. Both the Braun and the Icon. But I find myself using this more. The head does swivel on these, and since it mounts on the longer magnets, it's much more stable and doesn't fall off as easily if bumped like the ones that stick from the end caps.
Both have their places.
Obviously it's preference and use case. But I've never blinded myself with these.

"I shined a light in my own eyes, this light sucks, buy something else!" - Cannot make this stuff up...
If I didn't already have 2 of this light I would have jumped on this deal. The hidden value of this light is the quality of the LED used. The light output is natural sunlight, high CRI, very easy on the eye. Best work light and easily maneuverable due to the small size.

Yep. Very even light, too.. a lot of people gloss over the quality of light output when they say other cheaper lights are 'better'.
Mine's come in very handy numerous times over the years I've owned it - makes for a good inspection light. I'd like the newer M18 Rover now though with USB-C output.

I have one. Am in for another at this price and I get Vet 10% discount stacked at 58 and change. This is perfect for camping or a car light under the seat. And it has ended up in the house as the got to light. Very bright, two levels. great light and I'm on the M12 platform so many bat options for me.
What is the Hack mentioned by the OP, a deal hack? Something else?
If you go with the second, more expensive option, you can return the battery and get the light by itself for about $44 IIRC. Both items will be separate lines in your cart and you can see how much the light and battery are by themselves.
That's been called a "Hack" on HD deals for years.

It's a deal hack you buy the light 79$ with free battery take battery back for a refund. It winds up couple bucks less but honeslty for what they give back on the battery I'd spend 1/4 tank of gas plus two hrs returning it. I'd lose.
This is actually a good deal for this light I'm buying more even with the small battery.
I completey replaced my camping lanterns with them. On low setting puts out good light and even on a 1.5ah last most of night, and dosent seem draw bugs as bad as my propane lanterns.

Thanks, I thought so, but in the back of my mind I was wondering if there was some sort of hack in the more traditional sense. (Don't ask me what, like maybe cranking the power to heat up my lunch or something equally as dumb 😁)
I have one of these and really like it. I grab it instead of the individual battery powered floodlights that I have. I also have the Braun folding light, which is a great tool, but a different purpose. Can definitely recommend this light for general purpose use.

Maybe initially brighter. But 3x lithium batteries will be brighter for longer than 1 lithium battery. This is my preferred light for under dash work as those Icon/Braun ones are too long and unstable

TL;DR: Boring, but in a good way.
