Dyson Animal 3 is coming through as a strong pet hair vacuum with plenty of suction and a track record of lasting for years. The brush head is praised for pulling up hair without clogging, and the vacuum is described as a solid replacement for older Dyson uprights. The main cautions are that it can be too strong for some rugs, and parts or repairs may be harder to handle if something breaks. The Lowe's member price also appears to land at $229.99 in cart, though other prices and alternatives were mentioned.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. The $120 member discount is applied in cart after signing into a Lowe's account, bringing the price to $229.99 before tax.
It is reported to be especially strong for homes with pets, pulling up a lot of hair and rarely clogging the brush. Several owners describe it as a reliable workhorse for multi-pet households.
Yes. Dyson's own site was reported at $219 with free shipping, and a refurbished unit was listed at Walmart for $150, so Lowe's is not always the lowest option.
Dyson reportedly discontinued its third-party repair program, so local appliance repair shops may not be able to service it and replacement parts can be harder to source. That makes long-term repairability a concern compared with brands like Sebo, Miele, Oreck, or Eureka.
It can be too strong for a Ruggable rug and may pull the rug off the Velcro backing. That makes it less suitable for very lightweight or attached rugs.
