This is great for someone already on AM5 but for someone like me who has a 5600X and AM4 it ain't even worth upgrading to AM5 when DDR5 has skyrocket in price ($180 for 16 GB umm hell no).
What this guy said. The memory shortage will only get worse and pretty much kill platform upgrades, ie AM4 to AM5. For those of us on AM4 we either upgrade now or hold onto our AM4 platform for the next 1-2 years. I'm choosing to hodl. Just picked up a larger ssd as a game drive and will stay put.
7600X3D for $200 is the slickest deal. Pretty much a forever CPU if you're a gamer and not crunching the highest bitrate 4K RAW video or something similar on the regular

I've been sitting on 32GB of Corsair 5600 (from Best Buy's $15 oopsy last year) and a 1TB Lexar nvme that went on sale for $48 before the summer, but I can't force myself to pull the trigger on this. My i7-10700 and 6650XT XPS 8940 still does everything I need it to and I'm 99% a console gamer with a huge backlog. If I already had a case and psu I'd easily go for it though.

AMD is rumored to raise their AM5 CPUs price at midnight. So just go grab it right now if you plan to upgrade and return it later if it's just a rumor.

Eh, I think I'm okay with that. I can probably hold off another year or two. I'm really only playing Rocksmith 2014 on my current rig, which has no problems hitting 4K120.I think the smarter play would probably be grabbing a 9060XT while they're still $330, but again, if I'm not using it for AAA, what's the point?
