The Switch 2 bundle is being treated as a solid entry point for Nintendo's new console, especially because it includes Mario Kart World and the 256GB system for about the same price as the console alone elsewhere. The hardware gets praise for a sharper screen, stronger performance, faster loading, and support for games like Cyberpunk 2077, while the bundle is also seen as more accessible than store specific alternatives. The main knocks are the price, modest battery life, storage limits, and the fact that Mario Kart World feels less fast than Mario Kart 8 and can play a bit random. It is a practical way to jump in if you want the exclusive game now.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is described as a solid technical upgrade with a better screen, faster loading, and stronger performance in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky. The main caveats are cost, battery life, and storage/game-key-card concerns, and the value depends heavily on future exclusives.

  • Yes. A $500 Target gift card bought at 10% off can beat the RedCard discount, and stacking a 5% cashback card on the gift-card purchase can push the effective savings to about 14.5%.

  • Target lists the bundle at $449.99 with free shipping or store pickup. A Target RedCard takes an extra 5% off, bringing it to $427.49 before tax.

  • Mario Kart World is fun, but it is described as less fast-paced than MK8 because of the wider tracks and somewhat random race outcomes. At $70 standalone, it is considered poor value, which makes the bundle more appealing than buying the game separately.

  • Yes. The bundle includes the 256GB Switch 2 console, Joy-Con 2 controllers, and a Mario Kart World full game digital download.

On Saturday I used the PayPal pay in 4 for 20% cashback deal to get the base switch 2 without any packin games at Target. Can I somehow exchange it for this and not mess up the cash back process.

Sorry, I did search and didn't see it, and now that it's merged with a previous thread, I see no mention of the additional savings.

People seem underwhelmed by it. Not sure why, tech wise it is a decent upgrade.

Sure, it doesn't compare to a PS5 pro, but it's not really meant to.

There are also not many new games available for it, but it's only 6 months into its lifespan

Currently, I don't believe it's that much better. It will depend on the games that come out for it (like the next 3D Mario and Zelda). It's a tough sell, because people are still happy with their Switch 1s. And if you were to trade in a Switch 1 to a place like Gamestop, they only give you about $80 in trade.

Target followed the Walmart deal. Switch 2 with Mario Kart World for $449.99.

With a redcard you get additional 5% off bringing it down to $427.49https://www.target.com/p/nintendo...A-94739186
Was just about to pull the trigger with the target card.. ended up using my visa. Target card does not have the extra year of extended warranty. I got 2% cash back with my cc vs the 5% with target.. so I see it as 15 bucks for 1 year extra warranty after mfgr.

Nope. But if you have no friends that have a membership and you can't afford $65 a year, you probably shouldn't be buying a $500 gaming system.
But if you have to spend $65 on the membership, this deal is better.

$65 membership aside, the Costco deal involves buying gift cards to then buy a console for full price. In the event you have an issue and you need to return it exchange it etc it is MUCH harder to deal with Nintendo than a BM store return plus you are stuck with gift cards and not an actual refund .
FWIW i am a Costco member and I still prefer the Walmart / target deal with PayPal cashback then going the gift card route. Now if Costco drops their console to match target/walmart pricing then that would be awesome ....
