Don't get me wrong, it's fun for sure, but I wouldn't have bought it at $50 let alone the $70 they're asking for MKW Ã la carte.
Community Reviews
The Switch 2 bundle is being treated as a solid entry point for Nintendo's new console, especially because it includes Mario Kart World and the 256GB system for about the same price as the console alone elsewhere. The hardware gets praise for a sharper screen, stronger performance, faster loading, and support for games like Cyberpunk 2077, while the bundle is also seen as more accessible than store specific alternatives. The main knocks are the price, modest battery life, storage limits, and the fact that Mario Kart World feels less fast than Mario Kart 8 and can play a bit random. It is a practical way to jump in if you want the exclusive game now.
Common Questions (5)
It is described as a solid technical upgrade with a better screen, faster loading, and stronger performance in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky. The main caveats are cost, battery life, and storage/game-key-card concerns, and the value depends heavily on future exclusives.
Yes. A $500 Target gift card bought at 10% off can beat the RedCard discount, and stacking a 5% cashback card on the gift-card purchase can push the effective savings to about 14.5%.
Target lists the bundle at $449.99 with free shipping or store pickup. A Target RedCard takes an extra 5% off, bringing it to $427.49 before tax.
Mario Kart World is fun, but it is described as less fast-paced than MK8 because of the wider tracks and somewhat random race outcomes. At $70 standalone, it is considered poor value, which makes the bundle more appealing than buying the game separately.
Yes. The bundle includes the 256GB Switch 2 console, Joy-Con 2 controllers, and a Mario Kart World full game digital download.

Switch 2 + Donkey Kong Bananza + 5% Red Card is $494 pretax. Just add a cheap filler if you live somewhere without taxes. Get $50 toward a future purchase.
You also don't have to spend $500 in one transaction, so you can always shop later and still get the reward. You will get $10 in rewards for every $100 spent.
