Same....pre-ordered when it was announced. Got it as soon as they were made available. No regrets; it's been in my living room bookcase since then. My wife is kind enough to allow a small "geek" section in the area accessible to guests. LoL.

I skipped school (high school) when these books dropped and read them in one day each time. The good old days.

Same. I loved this series.

I hated Dragon's of Summer Flame and the direction the series went after that.

I love this trilogy and time of the twins. Great reads. Definite buy at this price. I paid $18 and change when it first came out.

It just doesn't hold up to an adult's learned eye. Great story arc, but they were never the greatest writers. The fact nobody turned it to a viable show is really an embarrassment. Very cinematic
This is my take as well. In a world where fantasy is finally cool and everything in movies or TV has source material it's almost strange no one has touched these. Even if the writing isn't perfect the bones are there.

Great series for young people. Inspired me to write books of my own. I met Margaret and Tracy and was delighted by their genuine kindness.

My dad read this series and more. Got me into the fantasy world when I was a kid and I'm now reading this, for the first time, in my 40's. I am enjoying the ride that this series is taking me on. Hoping I can find other entertaining dragonlance book series when I'm done w this

basically any dragonlance book by Margaret and Tracy are worth reading. I've read several others by different authors and they don't come close.

If you are interest in more of their fiction, the Death Gate Cycle is a good read.

Well sure it doesn't have rape and incest so yes it's tame. But it holds up well. Legends is still a convoluted mess but Chronicles feels very comforting as an adult reread. Always good to revisit the Inn of the last home.
But they note several times that Tanis Half Elven is that way because he's the bastard child of a raped elf...

Not to mention that this line jump started puberty for me 40 years ago. "Goldmoon had slit Tika's red barmaid skirt up to her thighs for easier movement. Bitsof fluffy white from Tika's fur-trimmed undergarments peeped enticingly through the slits."

And suddenly, I understand why I love skirts with thigh high slits.

But I always thought that fur trimmed undergarments seemed unsanitary.

How do the stories hold up? Haha some stuff from my youth isn't that great when I go back and reread.
I listened to these on audio book this summer. Yes maybe the plots felt a little simpler then when I was 13 but it was an enjoyable experience.

Agreed when those two got together to write, it was usually quite good.
