But fit the most comfortable and secure I've experienced with any variety/version of AirPods. The Pro 2's would want to slip out of my ears after a run. The 3's are snug but I don't even realize they are in. They've yet to fell like they were falling out.
The bonus feature of translation and heart rate are nice too. The latter is especially great when my AW is about to conk out just before a run.
Also bad reviews of Apple products are expected. Lots of Apple hater hobbyists out there. And as for the rate of return, that's completely anecdotal because neither Apple nor any of its partners release that kind of information.
Maybe your best friend is manager at a Best Buy, but that's one store of many. Moreover people return items for lots of reasons other than dissatisfaction. For example, buyer's remorse, especially with expensive items bought on emotion rather than for an actual use case.

AirPods Pro 3 are being praised for stronger noise cancellation, a more secure fit, and a bassier, livelier sound than Pro 2, with transparency mode and run-friendly comfort standing out. The heart rate and translation features also add useful extras, especially for workouts and meetings. The main knocks are that the tuning can be worse for midrange-heavy music, fit still varies by ear, and battery longevity remains a concern. At this price, they look best for buyers who want Apple earbuds with improved ANC and fit.
Common Questions (5)
The upgrade is mostly about fit and ANC rather than a dramatic sound jump. Pro 3 is reported to fit more securely, have better transparency mode and stronger noise cancellation, while sound is often described as bassier and sometimes worse in the midrange than Pro 2.
Yes. The tuning is described as more bassy and lively, and some listeners prefer Pro 2 because Pro 3 can sound worse in the midrange or less accurate for midrange-heavy music. Apple may have also pushed a software tweak that reportedly reduced bass and harsh highs.
They are reported to fit more securely than AirPods Pro 2 and are less likely to slip out during runs. The included tip sizes help, but comfort still depends on ear shape, and some people report pain or blisters after longer wear.
Apple does not offer AirPods trade-ins, but Best Buy does and has been offering small credits such as $30-$35 for older AirPods Pro models. The trade-in value is issued as a gift card, not cash.
Yes. The $249 list price drops to $224 after the $25 Target Circle discount, and the final ~$212.80 price only works if you pay with a RedCard for the extra 5% off. Sales tax still applies.

I've got "$10 back in Target Rewards for every $100 spent."
My friend's AirPods Pro 2 lasted 3 years, then the battery wasn't lasting nearly as long. Same with her Apple Watch SE.
I don't see any Circle deal that mentions electronics, so I'm unsure what deal is being referenced here.
(I have not made any purchases at Target recently that would have "used up" any one-time deals)
If someone has a surefire method, please share.
Otherwise, this seems like a YMMV deal.
me either, not sure why

(also came with $15 Target Circle rewards with $150 spend?)
Still notable since Airpod pros have been consistently some best in class ANC, so any improvement is going to be incremental, so if you're already using APP2, the improvement is going to be marginal.
If you're frequently flying, on public transit, or working in a noisy environment it could be worth it to upgrade from APP2, but for most people it's a big surcharge to get a marginal improvement. This isn't a knock on the quality of APP3s, but more of a testament to how good the 2s are.
Removing the headphone jack was annoying, but really not the insurmountable barrier to using wired headphones that people like to make it out to be.
So, yes, I trust people who say they don't find them comfortable for them. But that also doesn't make the Pro 3's fit trash. Functionally the Pro 3's are superior to the 2s. I get that some will wait until the price goes down under $200, and that's fair. I usually do that to, but I bought the Pro 3s now because Apple did change the fit and I was worth trying because the way the 2's slowly slip out of my ears at the end of a run is annoying.

I bought a $7 pair of wired earbuds and plugged them in to a non-Apple device.
They sound great.
As someone who wore wired audiophile $400 Shure SE535s buds for years, yes, Apple convinced me wireless is more convenient and appropriate when running and walking around. I do not miss the headphone jack and look forward to the day when AirPod Pro's match the SE535s audio quality, but they are excellent now even still. Worth every cent. I don't envy your $7 buds.
