I built this a few weeks ago, and it's horrible. Not even remotely close to Lego quality. Some pieces fit loosely together and eventually fall apart, and other pieces are almost impossible to fit together as they're way too tight. Too many other issues to list here.

Woah, HW has Lego now?? These look slighly more realistic than Lego, and that's a good price for the pieces and the scale

Yep several sets of different sizes. The HW car the bricks are models after are also included.

Thank you very much for posting this.

Anybody can make bricks. Not everyone can make bricks well. I remember about 20 years ago when K'Nex (a company I really love) started making bricks. It seemed like such a cool idea to blend those two different types of building systems.

I cannot imagine how I could have been more disappointed in the execution. Forget attaching bricks to K'Nex...connecting bricks to bricks was a big enough challenge.

Saved me a purchase! I was worried about that since I've gotten different things in the past like a Halo set that wasn't Lego branded and although it was a name brand the instructions were terrible and it never got built

not to be that guy but "Lego" is the brand and this is definitely some off-brand 'building blocks'

That's a shame to hear. A lot of LEGO car sets with similar piece counts barely look like the target car, while this one looks really good.

whew, i thought it was just me. the metal rims are a nice touch. it doesn't make for the rest of the build that is very subpar. pieces do fall off if you move it.

Great value, the build is fragile with some nice custom parts, instructions are very good and it looks like an awesome model car when done. However, it is not as enjoyable as Lego because some of the simplest of parts do not fit together well.

Anybody remember Snap-on models? Model that didn't use glue. This is close.

Can confirm this thing is hot garbage. I preordered this in like July for the October release. Super frustrating. Pieces don't fit, nor do they stay together. You end up snapping off pieces trying to get another piece on. There is a reason it's 1/2 off 2 months after release.

Interesting to see so many negative comments about this set. As a Corvette and Lego fan, I got this set a couple months ago and found it solid...for what it is. It is not Lego and while compatible the bricks don't feel as good as the real deal. That said, I didn't have any issues with pieces not connecting or staying connected. If you are a Lego purist, this set is probably not for you, but if you enjoy building block sets I found it pretty solid, at a reasonable price, and better than many other non-Lego sets I have built. I tend to display sets once done, so if this is going to be used for play it may not hold up as well though.

While Lego sometimes includes unique pieces they usually stay with typical bricks used in unique ways to get various shapes. This model used more specialized bricks for shapes like the sloped backend, which do make the finished model sleeker but definitely not as challenging a build. The manual is well designed and similar to many Lego Ideas sets where there are details about the car and the people that made the set as well as the actual directions.

This is a decent video showing a Mattel set compared to a similar Lego series set. [bing.com]

I haven't built a Lego set since I was a kid. Roughly 1/3 of the way through assembly of this set now and have zero issues. The color coding and instructions are great. I haven't had any issues with parts staying together. Some parts do come unsnapped while adding other parts but I would think that's expected for a 50 year old with calloused hands.
