Great deal, thanks OP! Mirrors the one at Home Depot but I had an Amazon GC to use. These rust far less than the Milwaukee ones, and they're a harder steel that lasts far longer.

I guess I can always use another set since I always lose one or two pieces or they start to rust.

From a 2 star review on amazon:

"Don't get me wrong, Makita makes some great tools, however the extension that is supplied in the same case with the longer (2" bits) is not compatible and if you try to use one of these longer bits with the extension, they will be locked together and cannot be removed (even with using vise grips.

Makita is aware of this and they simply tell you not to use their bits with their extension (again, that is in the same case with their bits).

The irony is that you can use 2" bits from Other Manufacturers with their extension and they Will Not Be Permanently Locked Together. (I have personally tried this with a cheap 2" bit I didn't mind wasting. Please note that I didn't specifically try numerous bits, just one I had handy.)

The design flaw with the extension is that it has a ring inserted in the extension that is designed to keep their shorter bits hold more firmly in the extension but can still be removed if you pull hard enough with your fingers.

Makita also sells the extension separately and has the same design feature and thus the same problem occurs when using their 2" bits with their extension. On the other hand, seeing that other brands do not have this feature with their extensions, you will be able to use the Makita 2" bits without having them permanently locked together.

My experience with this set started with the purchase of these at a local store, shortly followed by my returning of these because one of the bits was locked in the extension. We tried a new set, noticed the ring, tried a new set and it locked as well. They then decided to take the item off their shelves and not sell them until they could figure out what to do about the problem.

With that being said, it is a good value for the number of bits in the sets so I ordered these on Amazon and will simply throw away the Makita extension and purchase one from a different manufacturer."

Most of the reviews talking about the 2" bits not coming out of the extension are from around 2019-2020, so maybe they have updated the product since then.

I've heard Makita has the best impact bits. I have not tried them. I get by pretty good with my Dewalt bits. Any input on this.
