Are these better than the Klipsch The Nines? I know they're different prices, but just curious which are better if you take price out of the equation.

Yes, in the KEF Connect app, under Settings / Speaker Preferences / Power On Options / Standby mode. You can choose ECO, 30 mins, 60 mins, or Never. If you choose Never, a message pops up noting that the speaker consumes 14.5W while powered on, as compared to 3.2W in Standby, and you can then Cancel or Proceed. Of note, Google's AI Overview summarizes a potential issue: "Some users have noted that even when set to "never," the speakers may occasionally still go into standby due to potential software bugs or connectivity issues, which sometimes requires a physical unplug and re-plug to resolve."

I paid $900 for these farkers when they first came out.

I'm liking the Dynaudio Confidence 20A active speakers now. Always liked Dynaudio, and these would probably be a better-sounding alternative to these KEFs. Unfortunately they cost $24,000.
I just pay a choir to sing the sounds to me.

Always plagued with amp problems then they are junk. I had a set of the $2k ones 7 years old.....sorry we don't fix those anymore.

It's decent but don't expect anything on the mid to low frequency. After all, they are only 4.5"drivers.

Also, note these do not have HDMI eARC if you were hoping to connect it that way to a TV.

It does support HDMI ARC which means you can connect it to a TV through HDMI, adjust volume using TV remote, wake up as TV wakes up etc

That is true. I was just referring to the Dolby sound not passing through that way.

No chance. They're not really comparable to the fives either, much smaller footprint and lower bass output.

They sound cleaner though

Does anyone know if there's an app and with user adjustable/saveable equalizer presets? Also, what's Costco's return policy on powered speakers (as I've never bought any before)? Thanks.

Update: Duh, I looked at the awful Costco page. Yes, it does have an app and EQ. Also, appears to have no 90-day return limit (but I don't have clear confirmation on this).

$500/pr for these is not bad. Anyone who'd pay KEF's listed retail of $1K/pr is seriously nuts.

Yea, sounds like Dynaudio is "confident" their speakers will drain your wallet! I would love to own a pair of these!

It's not an LT, but there is a YouTube video comparing the LSX II and the Sonos Five
