It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

30GB is nothing over a month, that cap seems so low. Trying to decide if I should switch from Metronet unlimited, but the cost is higher.
My wife is on her phone constantly and stays under 20GB/mo (not on wifi). I'm on wifi most often and stay under 5GB.

It'll depend on the person. You can also automatically connect to Xfinity WiFi while out and about which may save some data, depends on your location.

Is that everywhere? When I look at the broadband facts for the 1 gig plan it shows 1186 down, 1118 up, and 8ms.
No, it varies by area. You're fortunate to have symmetric service in your area 🙂

Terms say unlimited data, but they can throttle the speed after 30gb used.
I am just confirming for the people who are maybe confused, the speed throttle is for the cell phone line only. not the internet plan.

I am a current Xfinity internet customer. I used the Xfinity chat and requested this deal. They said no problem and I was given the deal. Took about 5 minutes.

I'm a 25yr customer of Xfinity cable and internet, just added 2 mobile lines 18 months ago.

Currently have C&I with 1GB and Ultimate pkg with 2 cable boxes = $212/mo, and 2 mobile lines = $64/mo.

New customer deal with EVERYTHING the same = $212/mo ($64/mo savings). I would have $110 early termination fee and $70 to port my mobile numbers out and back in. Plus the MC50 code for $50 credit.

If my math is correct, it would take 2 months to recover the fees, then I would be locked in for 5 years. Total savings = $3700 over 5 years, presuming costs on my old plan didn't change.

I did talk with a retention rep who tried for 15 minutes to find ways to save money, but ultimately could only offer a one-time $60 account credit. 🫤

What do you mean? I have actual fiber with xfinity, but due to comcast, they need you to have their modem/router between the ONT and my network.
Also, depending on what is run to your home (coax, fiber to coax or fiber) their equipment does not allow running in bridge mode. I am stuck using their equipment for this reason other than a couple access points. But I have none of the features or benefit of using my own equipment.
If your connection isn't pure fiber, there's a bit more freedom to use your own as older modems allow running in bridge mode.

Any hacks to get this for current subscriber?
There is, however, it is a bit timely. Unlike everyone else saying to sign up as a new customer, that option doesn't work for a lot of people in certain areas. As Comcast website is location-based some will have the option some won't. So to get this offer or any available I've done this for almost 20 years and it always works.

First you'll have to call Comcast and ask for the retention department IE retention is also cancellation. Once you're on the line with an agent, this is the important part. Ask them where they located. If you do not get an agent located in the US I.e someone from the Philippines or India, they cannot help you with this. You will have to hang up and call back into Comcast retention until you get an agent based in the US. Normally those agents are only during 9:00 to 5:00 Central standard Time.
Once you've got an agent based in the USA from the retention department, you let them know you've been thinking of canceling, but you saw this offer for the $50 for 5 years. They are the ONLY agents at Comcast who are able to pull up all the promotions from any region and apply it to your account. This way you keep your current account and your rewards and still get the new promo.

I've done this for almost 20 years. I've gone from 50 package to a 200 to a 300 to a 600 to a 300 and Kept that for years All on promos all on the same account, and then now I'm on the 100 since it's just my wife and I. I'm still a diamond rewards member with free peacock and the last time I did this was able to switch over during a promo a year ago 100 megabits down 10 up unlimited data for only 20 bucks a month, which is more than enough for the two of us and all of our devices.

Bridge mode is available on all their equipment, at least thats the x6 - x 8 gateways. I'm currently running bridge mode on a x6 gateway from a previous 5 year lock. It may be different for fiber though? Didn't realize they offered that. I have coax with Xfinity. Went with their crap again, and will put in bridge mode once it arrives.

I was able to switch to this plan within the Apps; at the end, it showed submit the order, not the check out. So I didn't have the chance to add the promotion code to get $50.
Can you pls provide a bit more details how/where did yo do it in the xfinity app?
TIA

Perfect timing for me.

I tried T-Mobile and the first 3 months were fine - speeds consistently between 300 to as high as 450 Mps. Suddenly the last few weeks we are typically getting 75 Mps.(I already received the rebate equal to 6 months of service so I'm ahead lol).

No issues at all subscribing through the Xfinfity website except that shipping showed they were going to send me the ancient Xfinfity DPC3939 wireless gateway (the old tall black one). I then changed my order to pick up and they had an XB6 ready for me. I simply asked if I could get a newer modem and they came back with an XB8, which he said was the best he could do at 300 MBs. It had the specs I was looking for so I am satisfied.

Set up was uneventful and I'm showing just under 350 Mps.

The reddit forms have people turning bridge mode on with the xb10
