Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.
That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Currently have C&I with 1GB and Ultimate pkg with 2 cable boxes = $212/mo, and 2 mobile lines = $64/mo.
New customer deal with EVERYTHING the same = $212/mo ($64/mo savings). I would have $110 early termination fee and $70 to port my mobile numbers out and back in. Plus the MC50 code for $50 credit.
If my math is correct, it would take 2 months to recover the fees, then I would be locked in for 5 years. Total savings = $3700 over 5 years, presuming costs on my old plan didn't change.
I did talk with a retention rep who tried for 15 minutes to find ways to save money, but ultimately could only offer a one-time $60 account credit. 🫤

Also, depending on what is run to your home (coax, fiber to coax or fiber) their equipment does not allow running in bridge mode. I am stuck using their equipment for this reason other than a couple access points. But I have none of the features or benefit of using my own equipment.
If your connection isn't pure fiber, there's a bit more freedom to use your own as older modems allow running in bridge mode.
First you'll have to call Comcast and ask for the retention department IE retention is also cancellation. Once you're on the line with an agent, this is the important part. Ask them where they located. If you do not get an agent located in the US I.e someone from the Philippines or India, they cannot help you with this. You will have to hang up and call back into Comcast retention until you get an agent based in the US. Normally those agents are only during 9:00 to 5:00 Central standard Time.
Once you've got an agent based in the USA from the retention department, you let them know you've been thinking of canceling, but you saw this offer for the $50 for 5 years. They are the ONLY agents at Comcast who are able to pull up all the promotions from any region and apply it to your account. This way you keep your current account and your rewards and still get the new promo.
I've done this for almost 20 years. I've gone from 50 package to a 200 to a 300 to a 600 to a 300 and Kept that for years All on promos all on the same account, and then now I'm on the 100 since it's just my wife and I. I'm still a diamond rewards member with free peacock and the last time I did this was able to switch over during a promo a year ago 100 megabits down 10 up unlimited data for only 20 bucks a month, which is more than enough for the two of us and all of our devices.
TIA
I tried T-Mobile and the first 3 months were fine - speeds consistently between 300 to as high as 450 Mps. Suddenly the last few weeks we are typically getting 75 Mps.(I already received the rebate equal to 6 months of service so I'm ahead lol).
No issues at all subscribing through the Xfinfity website except that shipping showed they were going to send me the ancient Xfinfity DPC3939 wireless gateway (the old tall black one). I then changed my order to pick up and they had an XB6 ready for me. I simply asked if I could get a newer modem and they came back with an XB8, which he said was the best he could do at 300 MBs. It had the specs I was looking for so I am satisfied.
Set up was uneventful and I'm showing just under 350 Mps.
