It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

I switched to fiber from xfinity earlier this year to save money but the fiber service was really really horrible. Signal was intermittent and speed was way slower than advertised. I switched back to xfinity after a few months. Xfinity is more expensive but service is way better in comparison.
For which service is better, it is really depend on your location and your wiring inside your house and outside your house, etc. Someone I know live in the city few miles West from me have Xfinity outage often so switch to use AT&T fiber. While people live in the same city few miles East of me don't have such outage issue and Xfinity is pretty good for them in term of speed and how stable the service.

For some area, Xfinity internet infrastructure probably was old and in poor condition so many people complain about outage all the time while AT&T fiber is very good in the same area. But some area Xfinity may have upgraded their infrastructure so the connection is pretty good.

So if you want to say your service is good, then may want to include which city and/or which part of the city you located so people can verify. Otherwise saying service is good or bad for you doesn't matter since this really depend on your location.

Sure. I am in PA and the fiber service is fastbridge and very new to my area . One would think with the new infrastructure, the service should be good but unfortunately it is not.

I was told my service would automatically be switched to my new account yesterday, and my old account would be canceled.. I still see both accounts and the new account shows inactivated equipment. I own my own modem. I think I'll give it another day or two and then call it. No sense paying duplicate bills.
So, this was my situation yesterday I said why not I was able to get into the new account and attempt to activate service. It failed (expected) and I got on with chat.

I made sure I had the old and new account numbers ready and just said I need my modem moved from my old account (number provided) to my new account (number provided) it got to the point where he said he wasn't sure if anything was happening, I rebooted my modem, and it activated on the new account.

Once that happened, my old account doesn't show up anymore. Hopefully meaning it pushed the cancellation through, but I have been keeping an eye on it.

I'm in the same boat. The only way I'm aware (in order to keep the same phone numbers) is to port out both lines to another mobile provider temporarily, then port them back in to the new Xfinity account. I spoke with a rep today about another issue who was very helpful, and said he's going to consult a friend who knows more about the mobile side and call me back.
Have you found how to port them out? When I log into my old account on the xfinity app and attempt to transfer line. It takes me to the xfinity site and sits with the dots just waiting. I may have to give them a call. I'm open to porting to another company. I definitely want to keep the numbers. Not sure if I can get the pin though at the moment with the app issue.

I plan to call them Monday to get the necessary info.

During the sign up process, before click add to cart, it says 1 mobile line included, and I click "-" to remove the mobile line. Will it affect my pricing in the future? Right now I have 1G added to cart shows $50/month for 5 years

Few years ago, I had just moved into that home; I got billed for installation; I called their customer service number and explained that the line from kerb to home was not in place when I moved. They waived that fee.
You can try that. But good luck getting a human on the other end. Now-a-days it's very difficult to get a real person on any customer service line!

No, you don't need to include the mobile line. It shouldn't affect your internet pricing at all. You can also just leave the mobile line on your order and never activate it. You have 90 days from your order date to activate xfinity mobile if you decide you do want the free line after all. Otherwise, the free line offer just expires.

Get all the way to the end setting up the new account (already have Xfinity 1 gig) and get this error message...."We're sorry, it looks like you'll need some help completing your order.Contact us at 1-855-254-8687 or live chat with an agent."
I experienced the same issue and had to call Xfinity to create the new account. It took about 1-2 hours waiting on the phone. Unfortunately, the rep wasn't able to get me the $100 gift card. My address had a plan under my name and the person that was trying to create a new account also had an account awhile ago (we switch back and forth). Took way too long so gave up creating the account ourselves and thus the gift card. Internet service went down but came back within the hour after activating it on the new account.

I think the order is complete AFTER you activated the modem and the internet works. It makes sense since many new customer won't even have their modem when they order so they need to either pickup the modem from store or need to wait for the startup kit from mail. And even after they received the modem and startup kit, they may not even know if they can activate their modem because something is not connect either inside or outside their home and need Xfinity tech to come and check. And some may even need professional install.

So I believe the order is not completed UNTIL the modem is activated using the APP or activated by profession install.

Nope still can't see the new account anywhere. Just letting this ride for now I guess. I mean I'll have to pay the bill somehow.
I was able to resolve this today. I had the account number for the new account screenshotted so was able to give customer service that to look up the account. Apparently there was no email or phone number listed so was able to have them manually input those. I used a new email and phone number to keep things separate and was able to log into the new account successfully.

Did you lost internet service for a few days when you switch over to new account? Thanks.

Even though they canceled the old account, it still worked for the next couple of days until the new equipment came.
