This is not fiber internet! Same old coax. Very asymmetric connection with 1gbps down but only 40mbps up

Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.
That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

I did this a few days ago and it worked great specially sense I was paying 45 for 600mbps n now I'm paying 50 plus a free modem .
I now have two accounts with the new one pending activation, will try to get CS to swap my modem and cancel the old account. (If I don't get a call first like others have mentioned)
update - CS totally messed up trying to close one account and activate the other. I'm somewhere in-between one being active and the other on its way becoming active. it's confusing everyone on how I got two accounts on the same address. fingers crossed my internet eventually stops working and I can activate my existing modem on the new account pending activation.

For me 300 Mbps would have been sufficient. But since 1Gbps is just $10 more I signed up for that. Hopefully I get higher upload speeds than what my account shows now ( 100Mbps ) I am waiting for the xfinity modem.
