I'm a long time Comcast/Xfinity customer and am paying $123/month for 1300 Gbps service via coaxial. I'm also being charged $30/month for a land line and get "discounts" (Veteran, two product, paperless) of $22/mo. I am also being charged $15/mon for router.I know I'm being overcharged compared with other providers and rates I see advertised, however, I do not want to lose my longtime comcast email addresses (6 in family) if I switch my service to another provider or if I put my account in my wife's name. How does my monthly charges compare with others? What advice would you suggest for lowering my monthly rate (I'd prefer to keep the internet land line as my cell reception (Yes, Xfinity Mobile) is poor. Same as all other major carriers since I seem to live in a dead zone. I've tried them all via either friends' phones and/or trial Sim testing. RSRP is -123dB... (terrible). Thanks!
At a minimum getthat router fee cancelled or get your own. I would call in and hit the cancel button a few times in the phone tree, that way you get to the retention department, which has mire flexibility. Tell them about this offer and that you are willing to get this through switching but that you rather keep it simple for them and yourself and wanted to see if they can match that. Eliminate the router stuff maybe slightly downgrade the speed to 1gbit ti get the $50 rate. I cannot imagine they would not help you out. Worth a call or going to store if nearby. Forget chat, its useless.

Man they really are preying on people's ignorance with this one. The infrastructure is fiber on the backend but the part at your house is still coax and limited to DOCSIS speeds which means poor upload speeds and high ping. No thanks.

Now Offer ends 1/4. New Xfinity Internet customers. Restrictions apply. Autopay w/ stored bank account and paperless billing req'd. Taxes and fees extra and subj. to change. Data thresholds may vary. Xfinity Mobile req's Xfinity Int.

Some of us don't have better options than Xfinity coax. I'd take FTTP over coax any day, but it's unfortunately not an option yet for my location.

I mean if it's the best you have then take it obviously. That said, I feel like it's still intentionally misleading to call it fiber. The infrastructure for most ISP has been fiber for a very long time. It would be like calling a normal gas car an EV because it has a 12V battery in it.

Does anybody know the terms of the $100 GIFT100 code? Like how long until we get it or HOW we even get it?

Is there any contract with this offer that ties us up with Xfinity. Their customer care is one of the worst. I ended up in 4 hr call without resolution and ppl were just transferring from department to another.. used to have platinum membership but with that kind of customer care I closed the account and moved to T-Mobile

Just called and they said new customers only.
If youre not under a contract, order it under someone else's name and as soon as the equipment shows up, cancel your old internet. That way you have no downtime. Thats what Ive been doing since pandemic

I got the popup to add MC50. GIFT100 also a valid code.

Someone already said. There is no visible way to add the coupon. Click that says "$50 per month" offer that has downward arrow to next. it pops up and shows items added to cart. There is placeholder to add the gift code.

I wholeheartedly agree, and I'm sure Xfinity's legal council had to review and sign off on it to use it as a marketing approach. It's misleading intentionally but technically correct just enough.

Can you even handle more than 1 gbos? In many cases it may require router upgrades. Can your devices even handle it? Imho, all the xfinity speeds above 300 provide at least 20 upload so that's all fine for everyday work and streaming.
You make a good point though, so I appreciate you allowing me to consider if it's something I really "need".
