Can't speak to the quality of this particular and suspect-looking item. But would just like to state that grill brushes with metal bristles are terrible and should be avoided at all costs. Even spending more money on a similar product like this one is a much better idea than using a metal grill brush and getting a bristle stuck in your insides.

Replacement sponges seem to be pretty expensive. Looks like printer ink model

I had something just like this but a different brand. Was really disappointed with the results.

"Broke in half after few uses" seems to be common problem, based on reviews.

There were 3 such reviews about being broken. "Common"? Or selectively hearing?

Picked up 2 for Christmas gifts. Looks to be a safer cleaning method than a wired brush.

Do you realize how infinitesimally small the chances of ingesting a bristle are?

Yes, I have heard of the metal bristles bcoming off and sticking to the grate, and then being transfered to the food. When you eat the food the bristle can get stuck in the lining of your intestines which causes serious problems. I threw my copper bristle brush away.
