Nespresso can definitely make a better cup of coffee/latte/espresso shot than a Keurig, but the pods are more expensive and less prevalent. The pods really add up. If you drink a cup or two every day, then a decent semi auto espresso machine pays for itself in a year. That Nespresso life ain't cheap.

Does anyone have any input on this over a Keurig Classic? I bought mine years ago before it was brought back as a classic and it's working well but not sure maybe I should "upgrade"?
Thanks for any input

Nespresso never uses the word espresso when describing their Vertuo coffee machines (since the system doesn't use pressure for extraction, so they just can't), so it's puzzling to see that Breville just doesn't care… If you want espresso and all its related drinks, buy an espresso machine or at least something running off the original line. This is not.

Have this machine (for a few years now). Love it, excellent cup of coffee IMO, but I'm not really a bougie coffee person. You can buy bulk pods on EBay for almost $1/pod, otherwise they're about $1.50/pod retail for the 7.7 oz cup.

I got spoiled by having Nespresso at some hotels and, about a year ago, purchased one for our coffee bar, sitting next to the Keurig. I almost stopped using my Keurig as I am hooked on the Nespresso, it's expensive, yes, but it's creamy and rich and really stands out. You can recycle the pods through Nespresso if you order pods from them. Look for Pods on sale on Amazon and Woot; deals often pop up. Keep an eye on the type of pods, as some only make a "sip" of Nespresso for $1 or $1.50.

No matter how cheap these vertuo machines get, the $1 pods are a non-starter. You might as well buy an automatic espresso machine.

Depends how many pods you use a day. Cheapest automatic machine is around $600-700. That's two years worth of pods. Worth the convenience

Are there any generic brand pods to lower the cost?
