A Minecraft Movie is available in 4K digital for $4.99 on Amazon and Apple TV, with a Bonus X Ray Edition also listed at the same price on Amazon. The purchase flow can be confusing because the price may reflect promotional credits, and the confirmation screen shows how much is covered after PIN entry. As a movie, it lands hardest with Minecraft focused kids and less well with viewers who are not familiar with the game. The Bonus X Ray Edition also appears to populate in Movies Anywhere right after purchase, making this a handy digital pickup if the credits math checks out.
People who already have Amazon promotional credits and want to use them toward a $4.99 digital 4K UHD rental/purchase because multiple commenters reported the $4.99 price reflects application of promotional credits and showed how much of the credits were being used on the purchase screen.
Minecraft-focused kids and families who want something Minecraft-referenced to watch together because commenters said kids who are "Minecraft game crazy" loved it and they noticed more references after watching.
Parents buying digital for their kids on Amazon who need a PIN step because one commenter said the purchase flow fails to finish after PIN setup (so kids can't just buy everything they want).
Buyers who don't want to deal with Amazon's promotional-credit pricing confusion because commenters said the price can show as "free" with a crossed-out $19.99, may depend on account/credits, and they were second-guessing whether the $4.99 deal is actually applying correctly.
Viewers who aren't already into Minecraft or Jack Black because at least one commenter said they fell asleep after watching (they hadn't played much Minecraft), and another said the movie was "so much worse than I thought it was going to be" even though they still liked Jack Black.
People who have $0.00 in Amazon promotional credits and want a straightforward checkout because one commenter said they had $0.00 credits, couldn't tell what was being applied, and found it difficult to identify how the purchase price was calculated.
