The Amazfit Bip 5 Smart is a budget smartwatch that stands out for its large display, long battery life, and basic fitness and sleep tracking. The $20 price makes it feel like a low-risk way to try Amazfit features, especially for runs, alarms, and everyday notifications. The 46mm case is fairly large, and the watch is not the same as the core version, which lacks built in GPS. Messaging and full app features may require the Zepp app to stay open in the background, and durability concerns were also raised.
The watch can deliver about ten days of battery life, which reduces charging frequency versus daily-charging smartwatches.
The watch can support message reception and limited alerts without requiring the Zepp app to stay constantly running.
The watch can work well for treadmill-based accuracy checks, with calling functioning even when iPhone compatibility is limited.
The watch can be used as a sleep tracker and alarm device to avoid waking someone nearby.
The core version at the lower price may lack built-in GPS and Alexa features found on a higher-priced variant.
The watch may require the Zepp app to run in the background for full features on iPhone, with messaging not working like calling.
The watch may drain battery heavily even with an OLED always-on option enabled.
The watch may have durability issues, with reports that it falls apart after only a few months.

What sold me was the 10 day battery life. My Apple SE 2nd version Iwatch last around 1 day, charge it every day. I do like the apple iwatch, ... but for 20 dollars, it might be nice to only charge every 10 days. We are all waiting for apple iwatch to break the 10 days of battery life, ... a very , very long time waiting.
