This game is really frustrating. I bought a second copy over Black Friday to play with my kids who have a physical copy on their switch. Not sure if it's because I'm on a switch 2, but we try to play local coop and I drop nearly every match we try to complete despite a 1gb connection. There's absolutely no reason for it, but it's made for a miserable experience to the point I'm just playing single campaign now since it's too frustrating trying to play with my kids.
