It's an okay deal, I wished the one that had the 9800x3D bundled with the crosshair Asus board for only 800 came back though. It's tough to measure how good the deal is with RAM prices the way they are.

If you try to buy this RAM by itself on Newegg, it's over $400 when 2 months ago, I bought a faster DDR CL30 ram for less than $100 and it came with a free USB stick.

BTW this ram is CL 36.

The ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A can be had NEW for $279.99 on Target's website if you dont need the overpriced RAM with it. https://www.target.com/p/asus-rog...wTnhirewBg

The board is usually going for $250 or so and the ram is insanely priced now at like $250 also. So really its pretty decent price given where things are. The cooler is pointless to me if you have an X3D chip. But whatever. I might go for this tbh. I can a used X3D 9 series for $350. Thats a solid build then.

Motherboard was $200 not long ago, the memory doesn't worth 100 a few months ago.

CAS Latency for the RAM is C36 and it's $400 standalone? No thanks.

In the good old days (earlier this year) you'd get a CPU+RAM+Mobo for $400-ish, now it's $400-ish but you only get to pick two.

Considering the current market prices, not much you can do about it. If you're gaming, an X3D CPU will nullify the RAM latency. Either way, no one would ever notice the difference between C30 and C36.

I have a feeling RAM prices are about to get even worse now that Micron has dropped out of the game for selling memory to consumers. Thanks AI.

It's small but it is a difference. Frametimes improve from lower latency ram with a possibility of less micro stutter (1%, 0.1% lows).

Yet the price of that matters not when these will be the prices, or worse, for the next year.
