Once the show caught up to the books and had to create it's own stories the show completely sunk and we saw what type of talent that David Benioff and DB Weiss actually had.

Season 8 was so bad that I wished I had never watched any of the previous seasons. It completely ruined the series. It was pointless. A waste of my time.

For me, it was 4 great seasons.

Then 2 lackluster seasons, with iffy writing, but at least some episodes felt up to par.

After that... well... not so good...

I'd want to buy a 4 season set of GOT, or at most 6. The last two seasons we can pretend doesn't exist.

I loved the first season so much, I bought the first book to read it. But because the show followed the book so well, I stopped reading the book.

I feel that through season 6, it was solid.
